While i do understand the need for refinement and polishing of a piece of creative work, i do worry about the choice of release date. Im sure there are reasons behind this date that we will not be privy to, but with all the competition around at this time it is going to hurt sales and the game as a whole.

A little harsh my friend, it is sad news but the developers must have good cause to delay the release. To many publishers release games that are not ready for release, even when the developers insist they hold off.
All this means is that the game will be further optimized and will address some of the issues people noticed and raised with the limited footage we have been shown, the screen tearing for example.
The only problem i do have is that this delay in release was in all probability known in advance of E3 yet there was no mention of it at the conference, and my concern, as i and others have stated is the release date. I do think the game will be pushed back again to a 2013 release, and i would just like to be informed earlier next time, perhaps revise this release date as soon as possible unless of course it is intended for a November/December release, which i hope is not the case.
Well I had already paid for the Insane Edition for PS3 and this gives me more time to find excuses for my wife as to why I need the game on 360 as well.As for going up against other big guns - that's the business they are in, they know other release dates for other games and if they are confident of launching the game in that window & they believe that the product is a good one that will still make huge sales then good for them.They lost players with FCIP and FC2 because both games shipped with issues and the wait of 6 months for some was too big, lets hope that when the game does ship that it is a polished and complete product that meets our expectations.It is only 3 months longer - not a big issue for me, plus if we can all get in the Beta at some stage or if there is a demo for single and multi player before the game releases then that would pass some time - before you know it the game will be in your console and the party will begin.
Wait a minute... So I only have a few days to play the game before the December 21st apocalypse?
i bet this was not the last delay of FC3. they will notice that this is a bad date to release the game and will push it back to march/april to eastern.
Let them give in return, that translated the launch, demo, or beat on the PC.
Moving in circles launch is the definition of insanity (was supposed to be in June and earlier), when you think the launch is have to move it.
I hope that at the time (an additional 3 months) will add animation lifting things (weapons, ammunition, items), and mounting attachments on a weapon (sight, silencer, flashlight).
