i get that one error after pressing play on luncher

The Disk error is a know problem, as you've discovered you can just bypass it by pressing Continue.

That looks like Windows 8, which is unsupported at this time. That is probably the cause of your black screen issue, in conjunction with the graphics card drivers you're using for Windows 8.

However, if you're using SLI or Crossfire... Please try disabling it and then trying the game again.
