Also my question is as following: Are you connected directly to your modem (and i do not mean router).
If you are connected to the router, cable or wireless? It's connected to a router directly and I'm using a cablet
What kind of router (including model number) do you have?Actiontec V1000H

Firewall, did you deactivate it? If so what kind of firewall is it. And most importantly, what kind of antivirus (it could have an integrated firewall in it if payed for in most cases). It's off, NOD32 Eset
What windows version do you have?Windows 7

This would help a great deal already if we have that information.

Also if you could do this for me we can start striping things of the list:

    Go to start => cmd

put in the following command when you entered the command prompt:

    ping 87.248.202.71

Tell me the response from it.

    Ditto

I am in the same boat as others (elfdeedlit, Tywnnvlad, VDEATHMASTERV, etc). I have successfully followed all steps in the OP, plus post #4. Launcher window still shows: Downloading: Gro_NCSA-Live-Inc-live-dev-Enc-GRO-26... [0/2] (0%) ... Total download: 0B/1.6GB (0B/s). This is all with the launcher from today (02 July), supposedly post patch.

In my searching I noticed that there is also C:\Users\Aaron\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\GRO folder with NCSA-Live and Patches sub-folders, which contain a ton of stuff including yeti.big. This all remains, even after the uninstall; should it also be deleted as part of the above execise? I tried moving (cut/paste) it elsewhere, but that didn't seem to help. (I didn't want to delete it since it represents the bulk of the 1.6 GB.)

Also, it seems that the uninstaller doesn't get rid of PunkBuster. Are there other remnants that the uninstaller is missing that might be preventing the launcher from doing it's thing?

FWIW, I turned off Norton Firewall and Anti-Virus Auto-Protect before starting the launcher, but to no avail.

Anyways, this must be a regression error since I was playing the game previous to this current phase of the beta. (I don't recall that be mentioned in other posts).

One last FWIW: I also noticed that in the Windows Features part of Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features, that Windows Communication Foundation HTTP Activation and the Non-HTTP Activation options were un-checked, but Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 was checked (i.e. blue box), and yes I do also have the .NET Framework 4 stuff installed too.

Hopefully this will help towards resolution. Any additional help would be great. I'd be willing to try more things if needed.

Seem that one worked, there are several ip's but i am thinking here, that you can not download that, it has to do something with the bittorrent file.
The launcher that is used for GRO handshakes several ip's on the bittorrent protocol. If this does not say anything, don't worry, ill come to that in a bit.
So what you and i both are going to check is your routers configuration. It may be setup or may be not. I hope you got the manual for your router at hand.
If not, here is the link: http://www.actiontec.com/products/product.php?pid=191
What we need is the user manual. We don't need to read it all. The only thing is that you need to access your router and then skip directly to page 58 in your user manual. Add the bittorrent protocol there. As for the exact ports that the GRO client is going to connect to, i am going to test that one out this week as i got my hands full for the time being. It seems you can select applications/games instead of manually entering ports so you should be okay. After that, just to make sure, reboot your router. If that does not work go to page 60.
A DMZ Host, but be carefull, only do this when the first option does not work for you.

Let me know how it goes.

I'm really not sure what the problem could possibly be. The .ubi files are basically all you need. If you completely uninstall and reinstall the game and the replace your two Ubi files and delete the associated .torrent and .fastresume files then the launcher should just recognize that you have the files download already and start installing.

If it's not doing this you've done something wrong, missed a step, or there's something wrong with your system configuration that's beyond troubleshooting on the forums. Hence why if this doesn't work for you you should contact support (see my sig) and include your DxDiag file (see the bug report link in my sig).

I also had an issue, and none of these steps helped my download. I hope they don't "fix" this like they did the proneglitch.

    Darn,

Did you try out the DMZ thing then?
Sorry for the late response from my part, was away for 3 days for work in a other country.

If that did not even help, i really really am guessing where this problem could be.
Let me know how the DMZ host went. Make sure you got a static IP set in your computer outside your DHCP-range or put a fixed IP in your router addressed to your MAC-address.

To get your IP address if you don't know it go to start => type cmd => hit ENTER
    Type in ipconfig /all
just post it here, i also want to take a look at all your network cards if possible, maybe we can set priorities on your multiple network devices. If there are more then just one. I am starting to run out of ideas here.

Well the line saying go to http://static.14.cdn.ubi.com/GRO/NCS...O-261332.1.ubi doesn't work, I get a 404 error.

This has been the most frustrating Beta I have ever been on.

Having done Alpha and Beta testing for other games including online games and Free2play for the past few years, I have never seen one with so many issus for people just getting the basic download.

I was on the prevoius beta earlier this spring and had no issues. Once this one came out.., can't so anything.

I hope the Dev's get this fixed before release as there will b\ e a lot of very disappointed people out there, including me
