    Product Key Issue

I purchased this game through Steam a long time ago and was never able to get it to launch. Now, I'm trying to launch it again, and it's telling me that my product key has already been used. It's the same product key that I used to register the game in the first place. I assume the product key doesn't change over time, nor should it expire at any point. It keeps telling me to purchase a product key online. I've already done that. I'm not purchasing two licenses for the same game. Especially when I never got to play it in the first place.

"Binding failed. This key has been used already." I almost bought this game again through Amazon the other day, but thought, "Well, it never worked before. Why would buying it again suddenly make it work?" I'm not purchasing it again. Since I never got to play it in the first place, I should be refunded my money at best. But, I definitely shouldn't be asked to purchase the game a second time. I just want it to work! Please help.

No it's not you, not your problem either.

This is an issue with Ubisoft after their service went offline the other day.

I have the same problem with the product key binding..my product key is valid but Ubisofts system keeps knocking it back and want let me play..

They should fix it as we aren't the only ones and the the game was fine before the system update at Ubisoft

Tech Support has acknowledged nearly 50 cases of users unable to play Conviction. From what I can tell, there is very little (if any) communication between Tech Support and the people who are supposedly fixing the problem. Still no ETA for a fix and no indication that there will be some form of compensation.

I have a suspicion that because the transaction was handled by Steam, Ubisoft does not have access to those users' product codes so the system invalidated all of them when the server was updated. There appears to be a lack of communication between the companies, but how would we know, neither will publicly comment on the outage.

Interesting note, Steam is still selling Conviction....entirely reprehensible

I'll pass along this issue to the team.

It might be worth it to contact Steam and see about the product key as well. In the meantime our Support team will continue logging the issue.
