quite new to game and here, i'm in memory 3 or so at the moment. though i have heard a lot of talk about different armors or weapons or even some kind of gold or money. in the first AC is there any way to get any of these or access an inventory to see them? thanks

There are none of those in the first AC. Altaïr will get upgraded skills or weapons (technically just regaining what was taken from him at the start) but no armor or money. They added those starting in AC2.
