Shooting someone in the foot should never be a one hit kill, as that is just a crutch for bad aim.

How can I be "used to CoD's quickscoping problem", when I don't even play CoD? Thanks for assuming bro.

Your last sentence makes sense, and should stick with any FPS, including Far Cry. Like I said, sniper rifles are made for long range engagements, you should be getting owned by every gun class in close range.
By one-hit kill I do mean in the vital ( Torso, Neck, Stomach, Head, etc) area of a person. Like the guy above, not everyone can score a headshot due server issues.

This game is not going to have large wide open sniping maps. The maps are going to be Call of Duty sized maps. Are you one of the those kids/adults that complain when a guy has a Bolt-Action rifle and kills you?

This video will show you how much damage a .30 cal ( Standard Bolt-Action rifle round in video games) rifle can do to a person.

If you want to argue balance. A Bolt-Action Rifle will have a slower rate of fire, fires one shot at a time, have to look down the scope to fire a accurate shot. The list goes on. Alot of people who hate one shot kill weapons like to jump and dance around like *******. While spraying with your automatic rifle.

I just hope the crazy semi-auto one shot one kill AS50 isn't in the game, this time...

No, I don't complain, as I only play Battlefield, and if the sniper is skilled enough to get headshots on me, I can respect his skill.

So, if you say the maps will be CoD sized, how can someone be seen as tiny as a grain of rice? (As TheRealDrew) says.

As for "spraying" automatic weapons, what do you want me to do? Fire in semi automatic?

As for the real life argument, please leave that out. We could do this with every class of weapons. Any of the weapons can be a one shot kill at any time.

On to the server issue, if you're having that much lag on a server that you can't get any headshot at all, you should possibly think about finding a new server with better latency. It's hard to kill with any weapon if there is that much lag in a server.

Like I already said, i'm fine with one shot kills to upper torso and head. If you have great aim, you have great aim and I can respect that. I deserve to be headshot if i'm caught in your sights long enough for you to line it up.

Of course you are apart of the Battlefield community. The little whiney kids that complain about overpowered weapons. Like I said you just want to jump around and not worrying about dying.

That is not even fun to have to aim for a tiny target (Head) while he is jumping around and dancing like he is not even human. Go play TF2, BF3, BC2 if you want to have unrealistic abilities.

Why can't I use the realism arguement, when Ubisoft said they are going for a more realistic game. I do not want to shoot airsoft BBs at other players. I want a real firearm that can kill.

What drew meant that it is hard to kill someone that is prancing around at a distance. How if you would shoot them and hit them in a vital area and they turn around, then kill you. Please tell me that you do not have a beta code. That would be great. We do not need another game with nerf guns.

About having skilled aim. When all I see is a bunch of noobs pointing there guns and spraying everywhere. They get the kill when I have a single-shot rifle.

I hope every gun will be realistic.. I like the guns in FC2, but a few things feel unreal. If you shoot someone in the chest with the AS50... You should die. I played matches where I had to hit someone 3, 4 or 5 times in the chest before he would drop. No thank you! Also the grenade launcher ( 3 shots ) should be more powerful. Would you be walking around when such a grenade just exploded a meter away from you?? Most of the time it took me 2 shots to stop a bloke.. A car took 2 shots too... I think it should stop on the first impact.

A sniper riffle should at least cripple the other player. Maybe not dead at first impact, but walking should change into being crippled and slowly moving on. If in the chest it might be almost fatal ( dying except when helped ), in the head should be the end of it. High power .50 should destroy you with every hit, except legs or arms, but you would not be ably to run on. Also a car should be disabled when shot 2 or 3 times with the .50. It is unbelievably powerful!

    Let's just enjoy!

PS. It would be nice to kick out team killers much easier!

LOLOLOLOL, and you're just another whiney little kid that wants one hit kills for only his weapons. Those little whiney brats exist in Battlefield as well.

But I can assure you, that I have never once asked for a nerf in over 1,000 posts on the BF3 EA forums. Never once on the Battlelog forums. So once again, we have another person that likes to assume.

I'll give you my reason why I think the way I do, because you just keep assuming. Personally, I think snipers are worthless in objective based games. They sit back going for kills, not helping the team in a single way. Yeah, I may spray my automatic weapon, but i'm the one playing the objective while you sit in your bush in the back of the map not doing anything. It's not about dying, If they make "Sniper rifles" one hit kill for the torso as well, it will just encourage more people to sit back and not play the objective, because they can get easy mode kills without dying in their bush.

By the way, I do have a beta code? Are you mad? If you see me post once on this forum during the Beta, and my post involves the word nerf, you can bring this thread up and rub it in my face. But I gaurantee you right now that I won't.

Just like real life, snipers aren't useless. They serve a different purpose but you can't say they're useless.
If your team has a good sniper holding back and picking off enemies, eventually the enemies will be too scared to even show their heads in that area, or they'll all run off trying to take out the sniper. They're a great distraction that way, and a great help for a team. They can also clear a path well in advance for team mates to move through without really putting any friendly's in danger.

I hope that you do not ever cry nerf. That has killed every BattleField game I have played.

Snipers are worthless, because in most games they are not one-hit kill in vital areas. They fire nerf darts. I would love to have the other team full of snipers, so I can capture objectives and win the match.

I'm sorry if I appear to be an ***, but I love the Farcry series. I do not want to see the series fail. The kids that cry nerf always screw up the weapon balance. Then they say, " This game sucks" and move on to other games. The are like Parasites, Cancer cells, and Plagues to the whole gaming industry.

Let me guess? You got a beta code from buying GRFS on day one. They are selling beta codes to a bunch of tactical third person shooter players. Not to the individuals who care for this game.

    My feelings on hit detection:

    Assault rifles 3-5 - Agreed
AR-16 - needs to be 5 bullets and have it's hipfire be inconsistent.
LMG - 3-5 but have insane recoil.
Snipes - 1 shot in torso region, 2-3 for any limbs.
Shotguns - 1 shot within 10 meters. decrease by 1 shot every 5 meters.
1 shot snipers are essential. Not everyone wants to play an infantry style game. Hopefully these maps will have some size to them because long range snipers battles are fun experience. Adds new dimensions to competitive gaming as well. Rather than having 4 ARs in a 4v4, now you have other options with the sniper. Really, if a sniper owns you close range then that's your fault for not killing him quick enough.

Trust me, I will never cry nerf, i'm just not that type of player. I don't know if you played the Battlefield 3 beta, but I feel the damage was perfect, but DICE gave in at messed it up. If there was another decent FPS on the market right now that still had an active community, I would be playing Battlefield less, and I think FarCry is the next great title that will pull me away.

I loved Farcry 2, I loved the mechanics, the healing system, the open world and the graphics. I don't want to see the series fail either. Yes, I got the beta code from Future Soldier, BUT I had Farcry 3 pre-ordered well before FS. Seeing another FPS fail to me would be another victory for Activision and CoD, and that's the last thing I want to see.

I've already talked one friend into buying it.

Sorry too, if i've sounded like an ***, to everyone.
