The sore loosers in Driver: San Francisco multiplayer

Do you see any? I see tons of them hahaha! I don't really bother if we're like 8 players and one leaves because he's upset. I usually am a bit pissed when it's like 4 AM and we're only two players, and the other player leaves the tag match when I'm at like 98 points just because he still has zero points.

It's usually the players with level 40 that are sore loosers. They just can't accept to loose haha! But today happened something even more extreme to me...

I won qualification for tag and was therefore first when we started. We were all level 40 players by the way, except one who was level 37 or 38 I believe. I immediately grabbed "it" and got away with the car we all started with (Audi A4 with a simple 2.0 engine - who says it's too slow by the way?).

So this is what it looked like towards the end:

Note that by the time I had pressed the keys to make a screenshot, two players were already gone. And by the time we came back in the lobby, this is what was left:

Now seriously, is that even possible? 6 players, which is the maximum amount of players in tag, and only one was left? This is so weak, seriously. It doesn't make fun to play against people who can't play, the good players almost never show up anymore It's not fun to win all the time. I mean, those guys don't even brake in corners, they would rather just slam into the wall and hope they'd touch my car. LOL! That's so sad. I'm thinking of doing a video with all the sore loosers... I would need to record the game all the time, that way we can name them a shame! :P With their gay lambo's and I don't know what, still loosing LOL!!! :P

This is how people have to be online. its like call of duty online i get annoyed of this constant lag in mw3 and these "overpowered" guns arnt overpowered but look like they lag like some people kill me with them in a split second which is like a cheat. People get this name called rage quit were you keep getting killed or annoyed in a match and leave

Yeah man I don't understand that, I got beaten in takedown not so long ago and I couldn't stop laughing to funny it was! I don't get pissed at all when I get beaten. It was really fun because my car only had 1% but somehow I still managed to get away for quite some time. So I was quite nervous and had goosebumps and tried to drive really carefully but in the end they still got me That's what it's all about if you ask me, about having fun playing a great game!

There are times in driver were you are playing tag for example and lots of players are so close to you to get the tag off you and you would be laughing because you are trying to escape someone

    Yeah that too

But in takedown too: When I first got the game, I tried to survive during the 5 minutes or so - that was my goal. Then later I was like "Oh, there's some checkpoints there", so my new goal was to get through all the checkpoints alive. Now, my goal is to survive the time, get through all the checkpoints (I have my "perfect routes" hehe) AND to keep the car's condition at 100% Won't always work but it's a cool challenge to finish off without even a scratch LOL! Well you can't really avoid scratches if you hit stuff on the street actually. But that's not considered damage anyway!

Players signing out and leaving you on your own? Welcome to my world.

A few weeks back I sat through seven races of Classic and Sprint GP in a row where I never finished any of them because all the other players signed out before the end. Seven races.
I didn't sign out myself and look for anther group because sticking with it is the only way to get round all the tracks before you start repeating any of them.

But it happens a lot, folk don't like to lose. When I first started DSF racing I got beat in every race, I lost 300 races before I won 300. But I watched the fast guys and learned how to get better rather than sign out. Now I can hold me own pretty well.
Now I get a lot of messages with a bunch of cursing in them or asking me what cheats I use, and then there's folk constantly trying to crash me out. The other day in a 7-car Sprint, every car but one turned into me at the first corner.

Still, multiplayer DSF is brilliant and I'll probably be there until they switch the server off. There's some brilliant racers too, for every sour faced bad tempered sore loser, there somone else just as fast a fair as you are, so it all works out fine.

Yeah I just remembered that sometimes when the results would show (who won) people would stay but then once the results disappear people would leave. End then you end up starting qualification alone. LOL! But you can check if they leave or not by pressing ESC. Or Start or something like that probably on PS3 etc.

And yeah I agree with what you said. Well, I didn't really get beaten when I started multiplayer because I already finished the game before even starting multiplayer (gotta love those guys in multiplayer who are playing the game for the first time and don't even know how to shift or something) - so I already knew how to drive. Now the advantage is that I know the roads and where to go, because obviously you can't do those races in single player neither you can do takedown with those checkpoints in single player. After having found my perfect routes, I surely became better.

That reminds me of takedown and that one checkpoint somewhere in the financial/downtown, near the state prison (as visited in the last mission). On the map it looks like it's somewhere near that bridge so everyone will take the bridge thinking it's a normal road but then they realize there's a red wall, and that's they're actually ON a bridge and can't take the road underneath them! Hahah! Always so funny

But I must admit something... I do sometimes crash people (I mean in races, in takedown I obviously do aswell!!) because that's Driver and it's part of it This is not Gran Turismo or Need for Speed or whatever. Crashes have always been part of this seris. And often I would hit the back of someone's car to make them go spinning, or shortly before a wall or another oncoming car I would give them a slight hit on the side to make them slam inside the car/wall I don't do this in classic race (except if players are really good) because otherwise you have to wait ages for the other car to catch up again and it isn't funny to drive alone. But in sprint-race I do it all the time hehe!

I'd completed the game 100% before I went online with the multiplayer but I still wasn't ready for how fast it was and how aggressive folk were. I'd been away from gaming for a few years and DSF was my motivation for finally getting a PS3 as the original Driver was my favourite PS1 game. So, it took a little adjustment and a little time before I dialled into the gameplay.
Glad I stuck with it though.

Believe it or not, I don't crash folk out. It takes a lot of provocation to get me into that and I get annoyed at myself when I give in. It's always faster in Sprint to drive clean, keep away from the other cars and the walls. Not always possible though, I'd say one in four Sprints ends at the first corner with another player's car sideways across the front of mine.

My favourite reaction to this clean racing style was a PM after a Sprint GP where I won 5/5 which said "You cheated, race properly, you're not supposed to overtake on the outside".
Players winning without crashing other players out is apparently more annoying for the sore losers. Yay.

good players dont show up anymore because for most of the good players MP is not working (on the pc at least).

Anyways, that's how it is.. when the game worked for me I had soem matches like that too - i scored 100 and the other players scored nothing... it's just that they're 'noobs' there are noobs in every game, call of duty is the best example - campers, overpowered weapons etc.

I was on for a while last night and in amongst the regular crashy types I met two new names, one at Level 40 and one pretty new player. Both raced fair, both were fast, I had a blast and we bantered away on PM's between races. No doubt someone will burst my bubble next time.

I know a lot of you guys have trouble linking up online but on the PS3 DSF is still alive and well with full races and new players all the time. It's a bummer, you PC folks would love it.
