Or the launcher is extremely poor. If there are this many people with the problem...and all of the so called solutions have not been working. Looks like this is an Ubisoft error- saying its not, and blaming it on the your system or terrible internet connection is just plain asinine, and quite frankly bad business practices.
Signed....Someone who has tried everything (but a blood sacrifice); not only in this thread but 4 others as well...pretty common issue.
Hey everyone,
We hear you on these issues. They've been reported multiple times and we're working toward a better solution. If you can't download, please hang in there as we work this problem out.
i still stuck on 0b/s........................
whats going on...................
My game became unplayable for some reason today, and I am unable to download the game to reinstall. You'd think a direct DL link would be an easy thing to add.
Guess I'll see you guys in OB.

Direct downloads for the required files are listed in the following thread:
http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...lems-READ-THIS
Basically; Reinstall the game until the downloader/launcher starts. Close the launcher. Download the .ubi files to the appropriate directory replacing the existing files. Delete the .torrent and .fastresume files in the same directories as the .ubi files. Restart the launcher.
The .ubi files are just archives (like zips and rars) of the game content/patches files. Basically a direct download. You can even open then in an archiving program like WinRAR/7-Zip.

Gee, maybe I should have read the thread and applied these steps.....oh wait, I did. Before I posted here. But thanks for the link to the fix that didn't.

They open just fine in 7-Zip for me. Admittedly I haven't tried WinRAR since I've never needed it since installing 7-Zip.
Obviously, only the directly downloaded (complete) versions will open in 7-Zip. The incomplete ones from your launcher will not.

And therein lies the rub. No DL = no DL'd files to open at all, with any archiving tool. No way to fix the broken DL'er keeps me from DL'ing. Funny how that works.
But it must be a bad configuration on my end, since I'm the only one with this problem (and yet I am not). I find this hard to believe, that I shut down the game, take a smoke break, and my computer decides, on it's own, to arbitrarily alter my connection settings, so severely that not only can I not login due to an "unknown error", but it actually prevents me from torrenting via the launcher. Because that happens a lot, right?

Well, you obviously didn't read the other thread. There are direct HTTP download links there for both the .ubi files you need.
