Anyone find a fix or have suggestions for blank screen after intro?

Hi all, I'm new to this forum so go easy on me, haha.

First off, my computer is running the Windows 8 Release Preview so yes I know I won't receive any official support but was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions that might help me be able to play this game?

I downloaded the game and it went perfectly fine, then I tried to play it and here's where I run into issues. After clicking on the "Start game" it flashes a command prompt then goes and launches the game, it displays the intro perfectly fine. Then after that it just goes to a blank screen and shows me a mouse cursor. It should be noted that when I first launched the game it only displayed the intro in the middle of my screen, after checking in the graphics prop I noticed it had my resoulotion wrong, so I manually added my resoulotion and it now displays the intro perfectly but still the same black screen. I also tried switching to to windowed mode, it works but the same exact thing happens after the intro.

I realize there's not much I can do if it doesn't work, but thought before un-installing it would be worth the shot to ask here to see if anybody had any better ideas. I'll also attach my DXDIAG to see if that helps at all.

Thanks for any and alll help I get.

I'm very excited to play, just got my key about 30 hours ago.

    Kind Regards,
    Eddie.

Good to know it's not just us, thanks for that info. I'm also going through everything I can, if you find anything useful please let me know, I'll do the same for you and anyone else having the problem.

It seems I'm not able to attach anything, or I just can't find it. So here's my DXDIAG I've posted to pastebin : http://pastebin.com/b9Cd2u3S

The reason I have a nVidia driver is because I'm running dual monitors and one is an old CRT so it uses my intergrated. I've un-installed that and unplugged my other monitor and still the same exact thing.

    Regards,
    Eddie.

It seems we both have the same video card series, and the same processor series. I have an amd rana 435 and a ATI Radeon HD 4850. What video card do you have?

Also, this was from the guy in my thread he says this is happening on windows xp sp3, 7, and 8. Here's the quote:

Now that I go and try to launch, it first was just straight black screen with the sounds then nothing but my pointer. Then closed it and relaunched it and this time could see the logos and stuff but I got to some little gro white icon and did the same thing. I am running Intel i7 920, 6gb ram, Nvidia GT 550 and 2tb hdd. The issue shouldn't be the computer as I run bf3 with high details and every other game. Even tried running it on my 3D animation rig with the AMD Opteron Eight-Core Processor 6128, 12gb ram, 2 - ASUS Radeon HD 7970 3GB without crossfire and with crossfire. No rig I have here in my house works, all 4 do the same thing at the same point of the launch. Any one have a fix for this yet or know of what Is causing the issue?

The first rig is running windows 7 ultimate x64 the 2nd is the consumers windows 8 x64

Also, I thought I would be clever and try running on an older pc (still i7) but running windows xp sp3. None of which would get passed the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Online logo. They all still go to a black screen which when it does, it sounds as though it stopped working and all you can see is the normal mouse pointer. Checked to see if an error box came up and nothing, it just stops right after that logo. Tried running as admin, no luck, tried compatibility mode, no luck. Even went as far as trying to set the launcher.exe to run as admin and then that just made it so I couldn't launch it, so changed it back.

Hmmm, so it seems to me it may not like our processor or graphics card? Just a guess, anyway I have an ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 graphics card and a AMD Athlon II X3 450 Rana 3.2GHz processor. Looks like it isn't our OS, that's for sure. I'm not saying it isn't playing a part but since other OS's are having the same problem it's not just Windows 8.

By the way, how are you liking Windows 8? You should also upgrade to the Release Preview if you can, has quite a bit of fixes and feels "smoother" overall.

    Eddie.

At first I didn't like the metro but after awhile I got used to it and started liking it. The searching seems better than what windows 7 was somewhat. I think the apps will be interesting at release though. I also like that regular applications are on the metro feels better than what windows 7 was.

Also, I sent in a support ticket and the support told me they are getting other people sending in this same issue, hope this gets fixed before this phase closes.

Also, last beta phase I could play the game perfectly on windows 8, this new version must have screwed something up for either specific hardware or just windows 8. Not sure, since the other guy said this happened on his windows 7 and xp.

Have you tried reinstalling DirectX that came with the game? This game is still in beta so there is very little in terms of optimization to run on different combinations of hardware.
