    Blacklist - CLASSIC CAMPAIGN

Hello everyone, fans and devs like UbiZack alike -- whoever will read this, I would like to ask you to watch this playthrough video of Hitman Absolution where the dev discusses the game. They show multiple different ways to achieve the objective of killing the King of Chinatown and discuss other abilities and things they DON'T show but confirm the existence of. I specifically want to point to about 5:19 in the video where he mentions something called "Purist Mode" which is for the hardcore gamers who have been fans of Hitman for a long time.

I know this mode has been mentioned before by others as well as myself on here but I feel this needs a dedicated thread.

I believe Ubisoft would really benefit by adding in a "Classic Campaign" where it disables some of the more "casual" mechanics that were introduced in Conviction. I believe that if they made this mode they would get a lot more buys from the classic fans. And that'd just be good business!

I willingly and freely let go of my right to owning any of these ideas and want Ubisoft to use them if they see fit -- just to make sure, even though they already have it mentioned that my ideas are forfeit on here anyway xP

    Ideas for a Classic Campaign:
No Mark and Execute -- Disabling this feature for the hardcore, purists of the franchise will go a long way.
Altered guard placement -- If the guard placement is optimized for using Killing In Motion/Mark and Execute as opposed to classic sneaking undetected, then guard placement should be altered for the more classic feel. This also gives players who play the Standard Campaign a few surprises when it comes to the enemies. This really just goes hand in hand with disabling Mark and Execute. Ex: In Jadid's room, he's guarded by 3 enemies who are waiting at the door for Sam....Sam should be able to get in undetected and take them all out silently because of the way they've been repositioned for the Classic Mode. All the enemies could also be altered enough to takeout any and all triggered and scripted action sequences.
No Sonar -- Disable this. It'd be just like how Hitman Absolution is disabling it's "Instincts" vision in Purist mode. If not disabled, at least give us access to Nightvision immediately as an option to use.
Slowed Player Movement -- Like the other things, this is to give a more classic feel. Making Sam move slower and more akin to the original games will be a plus.
Variable Speed-- Leave the two-speed system in the game and leave it for the standard Campaign but can we get true variable analogue speed back? It was in all the previous games minus Conviction and Blacklist would be ten times better with it, at least for this mode.

Honestly, that'd basically be all this mode needs. It may actually be a lot of work to implement something like full variable speed but I think, in the long run, it'd please MANY fans and would ultimately wind up getting Ubisoft even more sales. The casual fans who are getting the game as well as the hardcore fans purchasing it for the Classic Campaign.

But if it's any indication...leaving all the new features in is fine, but adding a dedicated classic mode which doesnt have them and is made pretty much for the classic fans and any new fans up for something less forgiving, will be amazing.

What he said except the part about leaving in 2 speeds for the casuals....they will enjoy variable speed just fine.

    Yah I'm lazy.....what of it?
Variable speed gives more control over your walk/sneak which in turn gives your animations a personal touch and increases re-playability. It is also tied directly into the AI sound system.
Analogue controllers where created to give you more control over your character and the Developers have a responsibility to use it.
For me it's a no buy without it.

"This needs to be a must have in ALL game modes regardless of difficulty...heck GRFS has an excellent variable speed system. "
