Exclamation GRO Contains virus! Here is a proof:

The name of infected file is :

    yeti_release.exe

The name of the virus is:

    Win32/Heur

Scanned by 42 antivirus programs. Proof:

Ubisoft you really should scan your software before going with it in public!

It is a false positive. 41 of those 42 virus scans found nothing. Therefore, it is not proof that it contains a virus, it is proof that there is no virus.

97.6% of virus scans say it does not contain a virus. 2.4% of virus scans say it does. I guess believing the 2.4% is the norm rather than the exception these days.

With all your respect Sir no viruses IS when 42 different antiviruses found nothing, by meaning 42 different antiviruses found 0%.

Forgive me my bluntness but I believe 2.4% is more than 0% and it indicates virus.
Keep in mind antivirus systems need some time to update info about new security threats.

Besides , my anivirus system totally disagrees with your opinion too, because it moved yeti_release.exe into quarantine.
As you know Sir, there is no way to play this game without that file.

So an international company who makes millions a year would try and give us viruses and risk getting sued, sounds legit mate.

I use AVG as well. I humbly disagreed with its decision that Ubisoft is trying to hijack my computer with Win32.Heur, whitelisted GRO's folder, and had some fun.

Win32/Heur means that the find of your AV software is the result of heuristics. It means that the antivirus software sees instructions in the program that are similar to the sort of instruction a virus uses. AV software uses heuristics to detect viruses that it doens't yet have signatures for. There is no virus, your AV software just thinks there is because GRO probably does strange low level stuff that's also common with a lot of viruses probably part of its anti-cheat mechanism.
