To me it just seems that kills should be difficult to get in a stealth game, even if you are playing panther. Although M&E compliments panther gameplay, it just seems that you break the connection between yourself and the guards. The lives of the guards feel worthless and you kill so many, you lose track. Sure its fast and cool and technically stealth, but do yyou really need to kill all those people? We never had panther gameplay before conviction, and even if there was it was incomplete or on a different level. That i want to see ghosting on classic mode. So you get 2-3 mags of pistol ammo, everything slows down( not by much) you just have the slow part about bariable speed on pipes and ledges( or not. Whatever) and no M&E. at least that much. Its not going to hurt anyone, itll just make the game stronger. Its not even a difficulty. Its like Campaign, then you chose easy, medium or hard. And then beloow the campaign it could be classic mode campaign thats the same difficulty as hard, or something like that....idk? It seems logical for it to unlock after 1 playthrough, but it could be there from the start. But the game would have to be very clear what that mode had, so people wouldnt start panicking when they couldnt do some things.

For a lot it is fun. But they are failing to see what a game is.

thats ok, hypothetically speaking it can still be a great well-thought engaging movie makes you want to return to it.
imagine if Michael Mann wrote scripts for SC games, everything could be excellent.
but NO, problem is game industrys cinematical production value is way below any good movie stardard. most scripts/cinematically features of games aren't even B class, but their producers still bothers with making these kinda gimmicks results in dragging and ruining the gaming experience.
THE infamous unskippable 3 min long intro cut scene in price airfield is the perfect example. (no one cares, just move on for fck sake)

in the other hand for example, when a film producer turns to making a game, the product can be surprisingly BS-less straight foward gunblazingly pleasant.

Regarding games being movies, I don't mind that for certain series, for example some games are great cause they are movies, Uncharted comes to mind, it got the hollywood feeling to it, I like it, I like running through that scripted event where a tower is falling behind me, or the floor is crumbling beneath me.

I am not saying SC should be like that, no never, but I am saying I like SOME games where the are approach the design as a movie, but I don't want every freakin game to end up being a movie, Resident Evil 6 E3 Demo for example was movie like, and I didn't like it at all

Mark and Execute ? Who invented it?

This feature is available only in SC?

    Loved the classic series
    SC1 - stealth , thermal visor, microphone.
SC2- stealth , Paris train -mirror,
SC3- stealth , cutting the fabric, kicking in the door, Smart glass in the window, co-op mode
    SC4- stealth, sweat,

And most importantly do not, Mark and Execute

Exactly -- there's room for both movie-like games, and truly interactive games. There should be the Uncharteds or the Skyrims or the Half-Lifes, etc.

No, it's called 'Deadeye' in Red Dead Redemption/Grand Theft Horse.

I think the movie like experience is quite enjoyable and I appreciate the efforts in that regard.
However, it is VERY IMPORTANT to me, that SplinterCell is a PLAYGROUND and not an EXPERIENCE. GRFS campaign is very fun and good but it is not a playground. It's not really an environment the player can tool around in and futz with stuff to a great degree. The most fun in it comes from embracing the 'scene' as it plays out, maintaining your position center stage and consuming it like a movie. If you miss your mark the campaign tends to suffer IMO. Fortunately the MP is a haven for FUN gaming.
I don't mind cut scenes, even if they are mid mission but allow them to be skippable at least, and please avoid exotic game play segments (other than interrogations which are fun). The Diamond formation in GRFS for example (again) just forces me to miss out on some fun play time that I could do better my way. I DO like the Diamond formation but I hate the mandatory nature of it. And I don't like that it REPLACES playground type of play.

Blacklist should have plenty of great story and interrogations but MOST importantly we need well designed, quality and sizable maps, populated with great AI and a plethora of old and new tools to PLAY with. Please don't waste good maps with compulsory game play features. Otherwise I fear SCB will fall prey to GRFS campaign's inherent problem of being a CONSUMABLE game, that is meant to be played a couple of times and forgotten. That may be good for Ubisoft but it isn't good for the fan who wants an engine to play around with for a couple of years. They did great with SCC in a restricted time frame, I am sure they will get it right.

I actually don't have anything against it if games are like movies. But they shouldn't go all this direction. Games should find new ways to tell a story and the Gaming industry should push a lot harder for these efforts to happen. I mean I enjoy myself a few of these games that have a more movie like storytelling, but they shouldn't be en masse.

These are games I rarely play a second time, while others who have a more game friendly storytelling can keep me in the game for years.
