    Opinions please, moon/clouds SS

Trying to finish up my env. mod, but need some opinion. I honestly can't recall the other env. mods, but seems many you don't get a lot of moonlight cloud reflection, so been tweaking that. Here are two different looks, some I posted before.

This was my first try, OK, but maybe too much light and maybe a lil too blue of a look, plus the light reflection is a lil strong on the sky away from the moon and not sure I like the cloud pattern. Might look better to darken clouds a tad and kill some of the blue. Away from the moon clouds may be too white, this is more of a spread look with light covering more range away from moon.

Took a different approach, but here the light stays more around the moon. If the moon is on the horizon, it
gives you nice visuals of ships, but the horizon darkens as the moon gets higher, as you can see by the last SS
when moon is higher up, the horizon stays fairly dark. I think I like this better, maybe a lil less light....?

I can tweak either one, but need to pick one, so opinions please.

    Second ones.

Looks absolutely amazing and fits very well with the game.

The blue ones look good, but sort of.......Fantasy for lack of a better word.

The blue looks cool. The other one looks great too, it is indeed the more realistic one. If I have to vote, then I vote the second.

The first two are connected to env. mods I've been working on forever, but cloud refection was the next
task, but thought instead of waiting, just tweak a small mod for TMO cloud/moon only.
This is the look I get at night with TMO env..

This is just adjusting some light on the clouds using TMO's colors.

Same as above, but thought I would knock a lil blue out

Absolutely, the second set. Darkness = The Absence of Color. Second set looks sooo much more realistic, and on a personal note, they are the most outstanding, night-time, SS I've ever seen. Please, no blue!

I agree, although I can release both, but just gonna be the moon reflections, although some changes also effect the sunsets in TMO, but I think it looks good, more intense reflection off the clouds. The blue look I get from TMO alone, I think you're playing that...is it that blue for you?

I like my first darker set the best, but that has all the mass changes in my env mod, but the last darker set is pretty close.

Have a few concerns, I really like a lot of light on the clouds, but you do get a lot of reflection off your sub and a few other game items, not that it looks bad, just different, but does make night SS's easier to take.

I was shocked how the visuals get so much better with the moon on the horizon, sub AI could see ships up to 6nms away with the moon behind them, but without moon behind, about 3nms, very dangerous to let the enemy get the moon behind you on the horizon. Visuals seem to go down a tad when the moon is high, but the overall water lightens up and you can see good yourself..

Something else I noticed I never noticed before and not sure why, even lighter it's harder to see enemy ships through the attack scope at night when moon is high, but the obs. scope works well. That's they way it should be at night, but I've always used the attack scope regardless.

They look great, but can you have it so you still don't have the horizon like TMO has now?

Posted these at Subsim, but thought I'd post em here for those that don't visit there...Finally getting back at it, here is where I am now....Tried to find a balance between moon light and brightness of clouds, DIfferent moon, not sure if it's too big, it's larger on horizon, smaller up in sky? The horizon is still very dark, cept if you're in the moon light glare, no moon, you can't see...lol..

People seemed split over a blue look vs. a blacker look, tried to find a balance, but I don't like a totally blue atmosphere night or day.

oh, the horizon opposite the moon, still dark, lightens a tad when move is high up, barely enough to make out horizon from ocean, no moon...pitch black.
