I see on the wiki it says the game will have seamless co-op. I also saw this in G4 article. Is this confirmed? Will this game actually be a drop-in/out co-op?

It wasn't confirmed. The devs had an interview where they stated MP was just recently added, but they do not know how the multiplayer will work. They have stated they are not going for traditional gameplay in terms of multiplayer, so other players could just as easy be working against you as for you.
But overall, they have not determined in what form multiplayer will be in the final product.
Recall for Prototype, they had multiplayer when the game was originally announced, but later removed it due to technical issues.
So far, we do not know for sure, whether multiplayer is in the game.
Well, we could call this "Coop".
I'm the skeptical kind of guy who considers everything fake and wrong unless EA or a dev says otherwise. I think there will be a unique kind of Coop Mode, as seen in the trailer, but We can't tell exactly what's its gonna be.
I love to watch it and like to play it.
