Yeah, Chronicle is literally from the perspective of MULTIPLE cameras. A wee bit spoilerish, but not storywise, one example is that the protagonist gets a new camera and you'll see the jump in video quality. You can say that it is a "found footage" kind of movie, as in the characters are aware of the camera, but it's done in a way that felt original in its genre (or is it sub-genre?). I really enjoy the movie for its character development, and its uneasy tackling on the theme of friendship.

Ok that sounds a little better. Maybe I will check it out.

Well if you are a fan of shows such as Stargate, you will like it..... It's a Ridley Scott: If you're a fan of Alien also, you'll like it...

Seen a few other movies lately:

Act of Valor - GREAT! The first mission they go on was bad ***!!! Everyone was right, the action is fantastic. Lots of really great stunts and it reminds me of a number of video games. Some of the shots and imagery are mind blowing. There is a ton of production value in this movie. I'd love to know how this movie came into production and the story behind it.

Immortals - SUCKS! This movie is awful, that is all.

Heir Apparent - GOOD! This movie surprised me. I wasn't expecting to like it but I really enjoyed it. It's a great story and has a number of interesting twists. It's not for everyone but still very cool.

My husband is out of town so I get to watch crappy movies that only I would enjoy. You know, the "chick flick" movies that I watch by myself while I eat ice cream. I rented two last night.

This Means War - I thought it was great. I laughed out loud a number of times and that doesn't usually happen. Reese Witherspoon is amazing in this movie. It's directed by McG so it has that "Charlie's Angels" look to it and Reese is super hot in every shot. The action sequences are great and ridiculous at times. There isn't any element of reality to the guy's "CIA" job but it's still is fun to watch. I worked with Chris Pine before and I have a hard time seeing him as a leading man because he is so awkward and dorky in person.

What's Your Number? - I am an Anna Faris fan and Chirs Evans is so cute in this movie. I enjoyed it. I wouldn't recommend it to my husband or any other guy but as far as "chick flicks" go, it was enjoyable. But if you are a guy and you get stuck watching it you will be happy to know that Anna Faris often finds herself in little skimpy outfits (and she has an amazing body) so you may enjoy this movie more than you expected. However, Chris Evans is equally naked through out the movie and his body is EPIC, so that may make you feel not so great but could motivate you to get in better shape.

Prometheus-LOVE IT. I"m a scifi fan, Aliens fan, and a fan of anything Ridley Scott. I also went into it without any preconceptions. It felt like a piece of high scifi or the type of layered scifi narratives you get in short stories. Some of the characters were not as developed or fleshed out but I think that was on purpose and would have weighed down the story. There is definitely a second movie planned in this series.

The Dark Knight Rises-I had a smile watching this movie the entire time. It did drag a little in the middle and I love Tom Hardy, but I do think Heath stretched his acting muslces a little more, but characters are amazing though. I was suprised by Anne Hathaway she did great..although her voice still annoys me. Nolan knows how to end a movie and leave you satisfied

Goon-Saw it on Netflix and was a wonderful suprise. Seanne William Scott was adorable as a dumb but really sweet enforcer(goon) on an ice hockey team who is VERY good at his job and has to face Liev Schreiber's character, a legendary enforcer who is retiring. Lieve Schreiber is always great on screen, but the hockey fight scenes were fun too.

    The Darkest Hour
-Had potential, but I didn't really like it. It just ended and I didn't really care too much about any of the characters.

The Tree of Life-I'm a Terrence Malick fan so if you know him I don't really need to explain much about the movies except to say, watch them while you are fully awake and with a very open mind, expect a lot of beauty and a lot of great voice-over. A New World is still my favorite Malick but this one was a nice suprise.

I watched more movies recently, I just can't remember them right now.

    & Senior Cadette

Thanks for the awesome sigs Phin and Calamity!

I'm a history buff and ran into this movie, called "The Wave" based off a book from the 80's. Without ruining it, it sets a social experiment regarding Nazi Germany in the classroom. It's honestly a great movie and even with the subtitles, you'll become enticed and won't notice it.

I am not ashamed to admit that the main reason I watched This Means War is Tom Hardy. Goodness gracious.... *swoon* But the dynamic between him and Chris Pine was absolutely hilarious. One of my favorite bits is at the very end when Hardy is with the martial arts instructor.

With What's Your Number, again it's a movie where I wanted to only watch it for one person: Chris Evans. Only thing I have to say about that movie is hand towel. If you've seen it, you know what I mean. Awwww yeeeaaahhh.

As for some good rentals, hmm....

Anonymous was actually really good. It brings about the question as to whether or not Shakespeare really wrote all of those plays or was he merely a person who took credit for them.

The Descendants was better than I expected it to be. At first I thought it was a bit slow, but then as things progressed and unfolded it became really heartbreaking. I've never seen Clooney take on a role like that, but he did a fantastic job. I'd give you more about the plot but it's a little hard to do so without giving away spoilers... but Clooney is a father to two girls and his wife is in a coma. That's all I really can say.

My Week with Marilyn was fantastic. Michelle Williams did such a great job as Monroe and you really started to feel sorry for what happened to her in real life. Plus Kenneth Branagh is in it, and I absolutely adore him.

A Dangerous Method was quite interesting. Psychology is fascinating to me, so since the movie focuses on Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender) and Sigmund Freud (Viggo Mortensen) it was right up my alley. Keira Knightley surprised me with how well she did.

Finally, I recently watched A Bag of Hammers that has Jason Ritter in it. It's a sweet tale of two guys who're thieves for a living, and suddenly one day they find themselves taking care of a young boy. The dynamic between Ritter's character and his friend shifts, and we see just how change and responsibility can shake up lives.
Massive thanks to EmperorxZurg for the sweet sig!
