Oh good gravy! While it may not be beyond my ability, it's beyond my current patience level. Between doing 2 jobs at work (finally replaced a person, but now get to train them)
and the usual springtime home project workload, I just can't give it the attention it'll need.

I may take a few stabs at it, but likely won't post a score.

Not complaining, it's a great choice!

    71,030- Div III

Well, I've only played this song once before tonight and the score was a stellar 30K. But since I deleted my corrupted game save (PS3) the song hasn't been played on my current profile. So, after an hour in Leveler most sections are now half-leveled. Ironically both solos are higher-leveled (around 70%) than everything else, except final Outro Riff which is the only phrase maxed. So after doing half-a-job of leveling I played through the whole thing once sloppily and produced my requisite cannon fodder place holder.

This song has a nice little beat to it and seems like it will be fun to work on and play this week, although it does seem beyond my current ability to score purple on. I definitely need to spend some time in accelerator and freespeed to work on my fingering positions. My gut tells me 70K is a good goal to shoot for this week.

Tues: Resigned to the fact that this song is above my skill level, but I like the song and I'm enjoying the half-leveled phrase notes that are coming down the highway. Not worried that I'm not learning to play it properly with 100% phrase notes, maybe in a year or two my skills will allow me to try to play all the notes. For this week, I'm now thinking 60K might be more realistic. Bumped up a little bit from 46K to 52K.

Sat: To be honest I've kind of ignored this song the past couple days as I've been playing the Queen pack with my limited time and there's no light at the end of the tunnel as far as leveling-up/mastering the bulk of this song this week. But I do like this song and put 2 hours into it today and probably will put another 2 hours into it Sunday. I've max-leveled the solos which is a very rare accomplishment for me, happy about that. My original goal of 70K might still be in reach if I can clean up my accuracy at current phrase levels.

Sun: Spent an hour and a half in RR and 2 runs of the whole song. Up to 64354 now. On my last run the dynamic Leveler added more notes to several of the phrases (guess it figured out that I was starting to get the hang of it), so now if I want to give it another go, I've got to go back into RR and get comfortable with the new notes. Sooooo, not sure if I will be spending any more time on this song today or not.

UPDATE: Met my original goal of 70K. I kept making incremental level-ups a couple notes at a time the more I played the full song.

Well,I suck at this song as bad as the last time I tried it. LOL!

And I ain't even to the solo yet,and that is what really got me (the bendy and slidey part).

Oh, and did I mention the little change-up in the chorus. (insert maniacal laugh)

Well, I got all week, and I do like the song.
I heard they's a man there pays folks money to sing into a can.

Got some plays in - here's the before video:

I'd really like manual speed control to work on the arpeggios. I also prefer to finger the 3rd on the minor arpeggios on the E string, as you can see.

Now I remember why I shelved this song despite really likeing it. This is one of those songs that, for me, it's no use to try and partially level a section - it just doesn't make any sense unless all the notes are there. That said, I'm having a lot of difficulty playing it at full speed. I can do all of the sections in the accelerator set to full mastery at about 90% speed, but when I go to leveler and try it at full speed, everything falls apart. Bumping down the difficulty doesn't really help because as I said, I've been learning it in full, and it doesn't make sense to me without all the notes.

I really like this song, but not sure I'm gonna be able to post a score this week. I'll keep working at it though. I'm amazed at how easy the video on the first page of this thread makes it look...Cgeorg is almost there.

    Impressive, cgeorg.

I'm with Funk on this one. The RS method falls down pretty hard on this song. I actually haven't fired up RS yet for this song - just learning part by part, dry from the video and then I'll give it at a try at 100% mastery in the leveler once I think I can play along with the video.

But it's gonna take some doing; this feels like the outer reaches of my guitar ability at this point.

Well, glad to see the rest of you feel challenged by this too...

I think I could do better than this, but it's definitely out of my current league & I'm probably better off working my up from where I am. So just to make the lower scorers happy they've beaten someone - I'm all heart - here you go:

I see the score's practically illegible - sorry - will try harder when I have a more competitive score. Probably not this week.
