They said it will be optional. The help of your team is optional. You can decide whether you need the help or not.

I want that as a feature in the game, you need to sneak through something that is well light, so you ask Grim to take down the power, giving you a couple of minutes, then they fix the power and it is back on, if you are able to sneak before they restore it then hurra for ya, if not, then you are on your own, and you need to improvise.
