I'd like to see a reverse angle replay. As it is, when you die, the camera follows the guy who killed you - but it would be cool(er) if it instead did a replay of the last few seconds from the other guy's perspective.

IE: if compass kills me, I would see what he saw for a few seconds.

Im sorry if I piss anyone off but HELLZ NO. Call of Duty has kill-cams...do you see what it has become? I do however agree with the suggestion for a "Theater" type mode so we can watch the match and see how we were killed. It does bother me that i get killed and the angle+Amount of obstacles make it seem like a BS shot, but maybe from my killers PoV he had a clear open shot between some stuff. I am in favor of the "Theater" mode, i am heavily opposed to the idea of kill-cams.

    So, kill-cams?

maybe we should test out this demo system, in a controlled environment!

like say, a closed beta of sorts!

really hope this gets implemented, not enough games have a demo recording option, makes me sad
Nothing funny to see here, move along

Well since we already have the kill/follow-cam implemented, it wouldn't be that far of a stretch to make it into an instant-reply style kill-cam. The replay style cams are actually better IMO, you can't tell your team-mates where the guy who just killed you currently is.

Adding one feature that Call of Duty has does not make a game into Call of Duty.

It would be nice to see what it looks like and how it effects game play before completely vetoing anything.

While i understand your point I still think its a bad idea. You say, and i Quote "The replay style cams are actually better IMO, you can't tell your team-mates where the guy who just killed you currently is.", but is that not why we have Recon in the game? if you build a team and have recon you definitly want the recon to be using Oracle when you hear a sniper or a Cloak go off. Oh and i dont think the kill cam would be fair to the sniper in question, your supposed to be Incognito knocking off the critical enemies for your team and if one feature like kill cam can reveal your location then you cant stay and snipe for long.

On the off chance that I am sniping (Cuz i prefer to be Specialist), I dont think i want the guy i just sniped to have an insant pin-point on my location. Sorry if im coming off as a whiner but, but hopefully you see my point. You have all of the neccessary tools to locate and destroy the enemy but only a true team player will take advantage. I fight for my team and fight to win, but it does not help that even when i switch to Recon because i know my team needs the Oracle, they dont use the information and then proceed to wonder "WTF? Where did that guy come from?".

If you're staying in one spot and sniping people (generally that's called camping), you're only partly doing your job as a Recon. Especially since Recons who snipe from far away in this game (in the current objective based game types) are pretty much useless.

A replay kill-cam would encourage snipers to at least move around a bit more than they currently do.

Have you played GRO beta before? When you get killed, it currently shows you exactly where the guy who shot you is and even highlights him with a colorful outline. What's more, it shows you where they are moving to next if they are in motion. What (I and I think others) were suggesting is a camera that shows the kill shot from his perspective - and stops the camera a couple seconds after you die. There are no additional pros or cons to this that are not already in the game. I could see it being difficult to impliment however as predicting and recording would likely take a lot of cpu cycles.

Exactly this, the replay style doesn't give people away any more than the existing style of kill-cam.

If implemented properly it shouldn't be intensive at all. Instead of recording actual video and playing it back, all you need to do is have the killer broadcast his actions to the victim. We already know player movement statistics are tracked for heatmaps (not sure how accurately), and I wouldn't be surprised if bullet trajectories and all relevant data required is also recorded. It would only take a few more CPU cycles for the servers instead of the clients playing back the data. It would be a similar system to have the Halo Theater Mode, World of Tanks Replays, and League of Legends Replays all work.

it is fine the way it is..... dont make it annoying like CoD most of the time i waste time watching the kill cam since i forget the skip button. dont try to make the game broken like that one. every time i died in this game i already knew how they killed me leg/arm sticking out or i usually see the person who kills me. sure it's nice to see where this cloked recon came from but not worth it.

Well it's not like you can skip the current "after death" cam anyways, so what difference would it make? I think if anything, it would be a better, more professional (from a dev standpoint) way to show the death than what is currently in the game. But whatever.. that's your opinion I guess.
