    Far Cry 2 SERIOUS LAG!!!

I bought Far Cry 2 Fortunes Edition on Steam Yesterday as it was only £2.50, bargain , I was very excited to play the game so as soon as the download finished I jumped straight into the game, everything seemed normal but then my excitement was crushed by the demon that is LAG!!!

I don't understand how I am getting such bad lag even though my system exceeds the recommended system requirements.

    my system:
    AMD Phenom II X4 960T @3.0Ghz
    ASUS M4A78LT M-LE Motherboard
    4GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
    ASUS DirectCU II GTX 550Ti
    OCZ fatal1ty series 550W PSU

I have tried disabling V-Sync, changing to DX9, altering the GameProfile file so smoothmouse and smoothmouseironsights were both set to 0, I have tried every which way to try and get this lag fixed but it still persists

    help me please

    Hello ultimaassassin

The lag can be caused by one or more ports being closed in your network settings. Also make sure that nothing else is accessing the internet and your anti-virus software is set to allow the software access.

The following ports need to be open in your router or firewall:

9000-9004 TCP & UDP (default ports)

You can configure the ports that are used from within the Network options in the game.

Please make sure that you have the latest firmware driver updates for your router from the manufacturers website.

What is the ping to the servers you are connecting to ? The vast majority of players are in South America or Europe anymore. Look for a server with low ping, try it on a weekend when more servers are up...just a thought... Rhett

Ho does not mean LAG, like in the online play .... Waht he meant is bad perfomance of the game in general ... 10-18 fps in single player game....

You think why he post his computer spec??

Many things can cause lag, it could have been his processor/vid card/ram/ internet speed/server ping . since he DID NOT specify whether he was having problems on or offline, all we can do is offer suggestions on the information given to us.

I have no clue why he is experiencing lag, his system appears to be faster than mine, and I run a GTX 460V2 and get 60 to 80 FPS...perhaps something else is running in the background, or he is running two monitors off his card...dunno ... Rhett
