Ironside's enthusiasm is just about the only good thing going for me right now

I'm dying over here otherwise, maaaan! Argh... *sigh*. I bet you the dev team has some kick-*** stuff planned for this game, as indicated by UbiZack, which I'm glad he shared. I just hope they can at least understand the reaction. So many changes at once without actually rebooting it is incredibly hard to accept.

    Why?

    The only question I have.

No matter how good Johnson is (he looks great), I hope he and the dev team don't take the hate too seriously (just the right amount of serious). As long time fans this an incredible WTF moment.

I just hope they're aware of the risk involved. If it's anything less than their best work yet, it will be hated on forever. That's just the tough reality of it. As gamers we are accustomed to the destruction of many of our favourite franchises. The response is just concern shown in various different ways. Hopefully they'll understand.

Obviously I desire something to be changed, but what for? So the game can be delayed like the last one and more than likely not turn out as good because of hasty scripting changes? My brain is exploding.

I just wish they could either ease in to changes or go straight reboot, instead of repeatedly kicking everyone in the nuts. Basically, my thoughts are... if he's doing that great of a job, doesn't he deserve the chance to bring his own character to the series?

I'm sure he's being paid handsomely for his enthusiasm. no offense but i doubt Ironside cares for this game/character nearly as much as the fans do.
He comes in, reads his lines, does some PR, and cashes his checks. His voice is just a commodity.

and what role could he possibly be playing now anyway? does he really need to "coach" a professional actor? isn't that the job of the director?

he's being paid to be on board with this so that fans don't get too upset

    just my.02 cents

Not to mention that Sam has changed.

Ironside: "Sam hates violence, remember that Eric"
Director: "Wrong! Sam is going to kill a lot of terrorists, some very brutally"
Ironside: "Well, atleast Sam's motivation that keeps him going is his daughter"
Director: "Wrong! Didn't you get the memo that Sam leaves his daughter despite just finding out she's alive and saving her"
Warning: Everything above is an opinion
    The show must go on
What is this Splinter Cell you talk about?

Unless a voice actor is helping another actor mimic their voice or giving them tips on a character that's based on them, there should be no reason for him to "coach". They're basically paying Ironside to nap on set.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
