I dunno, I'd say give it a chance and see what comes of it before griping about it. Complaining about something that hasn't happened yet seems kind of silly to me, but perhaps thats just me. And I have to agree with KingImp. With TOE, Heroes V went from being a good game to an amazing game, so here's hoping the same can happen for number 6.
I don't think they are going release "pretty soon" it's just one way to spress they are working on the game.
It's could take few years or maybe months before they release it.
The bugs are almost all clean, I don't know you guys, but I'm REALLY want to play with Elvens (slylavan) and Wizards (Academy) with this new system... I can't wait for this release... =)
I posted I short list of things I would like to see in an expansion on the previous page, you should do the same.
I still dont understand why you guys keep bringing ToE into this discussion, are you both seriously comparing a small team(because that's more or less what limbic has working on this game) who has to pick up where someone else left off and are having a hard time as it is with just PATCHING the game to a large team who has made both the original game and another MEDIOCRE(because that's what most people seem to consider Hammers of Fate and i see everyone just skips over this part) before they got that perfect expansion that made the game amazing. Also i'm not complaining about anything, i'm just saying that, with the history this title has up until this moment, do it in baby steps, dont ask them to jump to expansions when even "major" changes to gameplay could beyond their reach at this point(as was admitted in the last Q&A).

I would like in an expansion that Barbarian heroes lose the magic abilities (like H4 or H5). Make them WARRIORS . Warcries, like in H5, are still good. But that should be all. Or something even MORE "warrior-like": no warcries, no spells and give the Barbarian hero two attacks per turn. They should use brute force and some magic resistance. In the wilderness you don't learn about magic, you don't have universities or mage guilds.
No, I don't expect this Limbic to put out some great expansion like TOTE, but right now we don't even know what state the expansion(s) are in. There are two possible scenarios here.

If it's #1, then I'm more optimistic. If it's #2, then as far as I'm concerned this game is dead.

I'd say that, if that post made by the "BH employee" was true, it's highly unlikely they started work on any expansion, i think the lack of proper patches might be evidence aswell. Even if they started i doubt it would be anywhere near complete leaving only the polishing to be done, if that were the case i would be somewhat optimistic aswell. But, again, i highly doubt there has been much work, if any, on an expansion. That said i hardly think the game is dead at this point, if they actualy keep their promises and put out proper patches and add town screens i think the game might even make a small comeback, i know 4-5 people myself who have stayed clear of it until now but would buy it if these things happened so there's still somewhat of a chance for it i think.

"Soon" could be weeks or months.
I'd settle for before the end of summer.
