I don't think Black Ops 2 stole from Rainbow Six: Patriots.

Black Ops 2 has been in development since 2010. Rainbow Six: Patriots was revealed less than a year ago.

Also, the plots aren't even that similar.

Just becasue a gameplay video was revealed doesn't mean that is when the development started. Everyone knew there was going to be a new R6 coming, some people even insisted the setting was going to be in New York; I pretty sure that this game has been in development long before the target footage.

You don't exactly need to "steal" an idea from somebody that is fairly common, just not having been used recently. And you can just look at the political climate. Anders Behring Brevik ring a bell?

True, but what about the whole futuristic thing and the drones and don't forget the jet. I guess "steal" is used to loosely; I would say they were inspired by R6, GRFS, and BF3.

Uuuhhh. I don't think this idea is really "stolen." If you can't predict that the poor and middle class are going to start killing the rich if the rich don't start spending their money and paying decent wages instead of aiming to make a 10,000% profit, you're an imbecile. The Homeland Security has been preparing for an uprising for years, which would explain the increased totalitarianism in the US... And the world. The recent revolutions across the world are only stimulating the emotions and bringing spreading fear to those in power. It will be an interesting future indeed.
