    Just to add to this, I noticed that crit % is shared among variants of the same weapon. I leveled my m96SV to 8, and when I bought the m96C, it started at 8. Personally, I almost ignore the crit % indicator, I shoot and once in awhile I'll get lucky and drop someone early.

    Yes. I powerleveled with CQC and went Mk 16 SV ^_^

    Anyway, I really think that Critical Hits should be nerfed for the beginning of phase 3.
    There will be a lot of new players coming in and this is the prime opportunity to put my claims on trial.
    Please nerf critical hits, devs!

    If the data shows an imbalance as a result, I'm 100% confident that our devs will address it. However, if the data doesn't support the claims, then I agree with the dev team in that it shouldn't be touched. Tempering suggestions with the scientific approach they have will avoid snap-judgement nerfs and keep the game more consistent and on-track to being better balanced.

    Well, my issue lies in the following.

    Let's say we have two Assaults with Mk 16s, identical HP and what not.

    One has no crit bonus, the other has a decent chance, 20%.

    If the assault has no crit bonus and shoots first, no chance of killing with a headshot. The second assault can fire a single shot, despite being the slower shot, and get a OHKO 20% of the time.

    I.E. the fast-draw doesn't favor the faster person because the slower person gets a secondary advantage.

    Shouldn't the guy who spent more time leveling up his gun have the advantage though? Most of the time in GRO when you win it's because you got the drop on them from the flank or rear. When it comes down to front-line attacks it makes sense that the player with the higher level gear wins.

    What would drive me to play this game if I couldn't upgrade my character as I leveled up? Especially in the future when maps and game play become stale? Having goals for leveling up guns and unlocking new gear is always a draw for people to keep playing a game.

    It's usually a 50/50 chance when it comes down to a noobie vs a regular player with good gear. Individual skill in this game still outweighs gear bonuses IMO. If you're having serious problems against higher level players; buy magnum ammo.

    I wholeheartedly agree. I'd be so pissed of if the nerfed the crit% and all that time I spent using the M27 D10RS was wasted as a result.

    Crit chance was already nerfed once on sniper by 3% per level i went from 14% at level 7 to now only 11%. And it sucks now that was done in the very last patch.

    Critical hits looks like an interesting factor into the game. But, I was always use to head shots being the deciding factor into a game. Having a high critical will bring more factors during combat as a head to head fight will have a interesting battle between players. But I see where you are going with this, hopefully "luck" doesn't determine the better player for both high and low ranks.
