You might have a scratched or dirty disc or a corrupted install if it's freezing consistently every time you trigger defcon. Might want to do a skirmish against the AI to see if it happens there too and try cleaning the disc or reinstalling the game.

My disk was scratched up and I replaced its only 3 dollars at gamestop (pre owned). This fixed most of it but there are still a lot of people who like to pull the plug. Of course you always should inspect them there, and it looked pretty new. I almost wonder if I'm now using one of my friends game though because I know basically all of them sold them in the area, and that would be something. Anyway thanks again b_4721. Also, Ruse is a pretty good game and I can tell they learned quite a bit from endwar. Mainly they got away from the Ubisoft server, so who ever made endwar why don't you use the same server for endwar 2 and change the dog of war trophy and nothing else. You'll make a lot of money if you do this, and it would be incredibly easy.
