Pretty cool video. Since I do not have a RB ready guitar, I would also like to use my real guitar and amp to play along with the chart. So let me ask you guys a few questions in order to do that...
Do you need to use the midi adapter to enable guitar pro mode? Once you are in pro mode, if you set no the no failure option you can just follow the chart without actually playing the game, right? In that case you can follow along the chart with your own guitar, right? Is there any way to display the guitar pro chart without a rb ready pro guitar plugged in?
Edit: never mind... I just figured out it would have the exact same effect and it would be soooo much simpler to just find nice RB 3 guitar pro mode expert videos on you tube (like this one) and play along with them on the tv in full screen mode.

The benefit of having the MIDI pro adapter yourself is that you can go into practice mode and loop sections to practice song parts as long as you want and at the speed you want.
Let's make sure we keep this respectful. You may not like the same music as someone but that does not mean you have the right to indirectly insult them for it. If you need a refresher please look here-

There's another one that I thought of... So, rock band separates the stems for guitar vs. bass vs. keys etc.., so you won't hear the actual guitar part while you play, but you will hear clearly the other parts that are playing... So you have a full backing band where the only guitar you are hearing is your guitar.
You might need to turn "missed sounds" off in settings, I don't know how it behaves if you aren't strumming etc... Also, you need to turn "Chord Numbering" on in settings to get the full tab notation, otherwise you're stuck with their 'wave' representation which you might not find as intuitive.
Also, if you have a midi keyboard, or drum kit, you can use the same midi adapter to play other intersting aspects of the game with a real instrument.
