    Lightbulb ASYM DeSanne Theories/Questions

Hey everyone, I'm new to this site, but not to DRIVER San Fran. :P.

I had a suggestion about the ASYM DeSanne witch, can never be driven because.. Well, i don't really know, but it has something to do with the fact that a real-life car can't be blown up in the game, I think Ubisoft/Reflections would have a ton of licensing problems so they invented a fake car, AKA the DeSanne.

If anyone is confused, Here are the only times it appears:

    1) The intro to the game where a DeSanne cop car blows up, i actually do not remember this scene even though i have completed the story 4 times.

    2) The mission where you tail the Aston Martin Rapide, AKA Leila Sharon, I found out you cannot shift in it, but there are a bunch of DeSannes driving around, how could i not notice this?!

    3) Krug's car gets blown up by Jericho, a DeSanne.

    4) The mission "frozen" Where the first intersection appears, just before the camera zooms in on tanner, there's a DeSanne right there.

    5) The trap car that blows up before Leila is arrested, again a DeSanne.

I unlocked all the cars in the Garage and like so many others, couldn't find it. :/

I saw an Acura Legend on the freeway today and i noticed it had the same taillights as the DeSanne, i wonder if Ubisoft got some ideas from that car?
To be exact, it is a 2nd Generation 1991 Honda/Acura Legend, Thanks to Wikipedia.

    Anyone support this theory?

One other thing, is the Dodge Monaco PD car an Unlicensed vehicle? it was left out also, Weird.

Thanks for Viewing this post. :)

Hey man just saw this. You might want to check out my secret car videos: http://www.youtube.com/manoelmdsf

There's around 20 "exclusive" vehicles with different variants, unique colors or even complete cars left out.

There is some more missions where the Desanne is around and you can't shift actually. Or also where it appears in the actual mission, so it's more than what you just listed! Yeah like you said it was made so they can blow it up. But there's also some missions where a Desanne appears but doesn't blow up, like the missions where you have to go to defuse a bomb, a police desanne is parked there. That's just before that guy in the Dodge monaco drives off. I think this mission was a bit different originally, the bomb (and therefore the desanne) probably blew up and you would have to chase that guy after that.

There's also the taxi dessane which was never seen in game - at least I haven't seen it. It was probably ment to blow up at some point in the game. They could have included it in the taxi challenge. You wouldn't be able to drive it, but you could see it at least

The monaco cop is a licensed vehicle - they just want to make players mad. It's a good technique, and it works very well. Everything that is "mysterious" or "secret" or not obtainable is interesting (*thinks about The Getaway*). If the desanne was a normal vehicle in DSF, it would probably be the less interesting one since it isn't even licensed. It's only because it's so rare that people are interested in it And that keep the game interesting too, and therefore people continue playing it.
