Can't Install .net Framework 3.5 Sp1 | Forums

hi

i've been toying around with the .net framework for 2 weeks and still can't make it work for the GRO

it seems that the 3.5 sp1 is already installed in my computer but somehow the machine didnt recognize it

also another thing i tried to do is to clean up
however the clean up is also failed too

but the GRO launcher managed to work, however any other program related to .net framework wont work

[my visual studio C# and basic Wont work]

so i repair/install .net framework 4, the visual studio c# and basic work but the GRO launcher wont work, again..

is it possible to release the non-.net framework 3.5 sp1 version launcher?

They probably don't have one.

Try uninstalling all your .Net Frameworks, reinstalling 3.5 sp1 and then reinstalling 4.0.

already done that
and its not working, not even the clean up is working.

i'm on win 7 64 bit

also anyone know how to clean up the 3.5 sp1 installer? afaik the first time i run it, it download 14 mb of files, but now it's only 128 kb
i want to try to clean up the installer so it re-download [possible corrupt installer?]

a little update..

so far what i have tried

-turned off micrsoft .net framework 3.5 feature and install the sp1
-cleaning up while it was turned off..
after reading up about system.windows.media.fontfamily, it seems my font is screwed so i..
-clean up my font folder [delete all, copy again from another computer]
-clean up the registry key

still doesnt work

is a repair install of windows is a good option ?

is there any specific font that used by the launcher?

finally i can get it working

after 3 weeks of screwing it up, turns out my font cache was corrupted

to fix this problem =
1.services.msc, stop Windows Presentation Font Cache 3.0.0.0
2.open up C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Lo cal
3.delete FontCache3.0.0.0.dat
4.start up again the service
5.run launcher

good luck to anyone out there, also please foward this solution to developer
