Is the running-roll-to-crouch move exclusive for Multiplayer?

You know, you run sideways then hold the crouch but.ton and your character does a leaping roll into prone.

I swear I didn't take that many drugs. But I cannot seem to do that move in my latest campaign mission. I cannot even do it in the Campaign Gunsmith. I can do the crouch-walk-roll-to-prone (walking sideways crouched, then holding the crouch but.ton) but not the one while standing/running.

But when I go to Multiplayer - Characters - Gunsmith I can do both with no problems.

This is what going crazy must feel like...

    Please?

It is a mix of the roll while prone and moving to prone. Try just tapping the L stick while holding B

I spent almost an hour trying, and it doesn't work in the Campaign or Campaign Gunsmith, but works with no problems in Multiplayer and Multiplayer Gunsmith. I do exactly the same thing. It's driving me crazy... I mean I know how to do it, but the one going from running to prone just won't happen...

This is really starting to pi.ss me off. I tested it in Guerilla Mode now, and maybe I think what's what. I think you don't have access to the running-roll while you are in Recon Mode, i.e. not engaged. Once I was engaged in Guerilla I could do it, after the wave ended I couldn't to it anymore. I haven't tested this yet in the Campaign, but I will. The reason it would work in Multiplayer all the time, is because there is no Recon Phase in MP, you're always engaged. Maybe they thought it was too obvious or noisy a move while in Recon.

Could anyone test this theory, please? I'll contact Ubi-Support, but I'd love to hear if this is intentional or not...

    Please?

It works fine for me in all modes...

You really have to sprint and flick to the left, while going prone.
It's hard to describe it on paper. Just find a quiet spot on a map and practice rolling.

Look, I appreciate the feedback, but I really know how to do it. And my problem isn't in Multiplayer (your comment about a quiet spot on a map seems to indicate MP), I can do it every single time in Multiplayer or the Multiplayer Gunsmith Firing Range. It just doesn't work for me in the Campaign, or in Guerilla Mode when I'm not engaged. And I'd like to know if it is like this for everybody else.

Could you or somebody maybe Start a Guerilla Match and at the beginning of the first wave, before you engage the enemies, try the move? Or start a campaign mission, go to Gunsmith, enter the Firing Range and try it there?

I really think it has to do with being in Assault or Recon Mode, i.e. Sneaking up on Enemies or being detected/attacked by enemies.

So, I found it out by myself. Seems the running-leaping-roll-to-prone in Campaign and Guerrilla can only be done while engaged (orange circle around minimap), and even then it seems to depend on something I haven't figured out yet.
