Thread: Is there any reason to keep playing events? | Forums

I haven't played an event since I unlocked SSB. I just add songs I need to play to an event so I can use the event filter in the songs list.

I might play some more to get the other guitars, but there's no intrinsic fun to playing an event vs. playing ala carte to me.

And what enjoyment there is killed by the random MM encore thing for me. I just feel stupid being asked to play a song I've so-called mastered and having no idea what I'm doing, and I don't play video games to feel stupid.

Also, the fact that there's no event manager beyond the "journey" is kinda crazy, so I can't set up the order of the songs, or choose my venue, or anything. The events in general feel pretty half-baked in this game.

Events are only useful to set up a filter of "songs I'm working on", but then playing the event just means you have to re-create your list .

I never really liked playing events. After getting the song unlocks, and the guitars I've stopped playing them. I don't care for more RSPs.

If I put my favorite songs in the setlist it would force me into a master mode setlist anyhow, and I don't want that. I also don't want a random MM encore for some song I haven't played in months. So I just select songs I'd like to play from the songs list, and stay away from events.

I do use it as a filter to make up for some of the menu issues.

I only play them once in a while and I load it up with songs that I've been working on. It's easier than going and scrolling to each song in between playing them.

I've mostly used them to put together the songs I'm currently working on to make it easier to filter. I still play the event about once a week or so, though. I've still got 19 some guitars to unlock. I'd like to eventually get the achievement for unlocking all guitars, but I'm in no rush to get it.

Lately my events have been throwing a lot of my DLC at me, which is cool. It gets me playing those more. I will usually replace some songs with songs that I still need to unlock pedals for, or the weekly challenge song. Occasionally I put together a master mode event and put in a couple songs I've mastered but haven't played in master mode yet to try and work those up to at least 150k.

i never play events, havet since real eary on, i just go thru song list an pick out what i want and play, altho now that i think about it, just going into an event and adding a buncha songs i want to play may work, let me practice them without going to the menu between every song.. may try that tonite

Guys, when I get it, I'll be sure to pass one along to each of you. Tho' I kinda doubt any of you need it as much as I do.
