Console and Type Key binding issues R6V1

I just installed Rainbow Six Vegas 1 again since I reinstalled Windows Vista, and I'm immediately having trouble with the bindings. I'm a arrow key user, so I make use of keys on the opposite side of the keyboard to most. In particular, the right square bracket is bound to the type key, and both @ and ~ enable the console (I use the UK keyboard layout, so @ and ~ are next to each other). I know previously this was not the case, as the user data I copied over from my last installation has the right square bracket and ~ keys bound for game functions. I'm positive that last time I had the game installed, only the @ key enabled the console, and if I had a Type Key it must have been somewhere else entirely. I could just change the keys I use, but this would require a fairly drastic alteration of my standard layout (even though it's just two keys, it moves everything across a whole key effectively), and as I use exactly the same keys for Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (where only the @ enables the console), it makes sense to try and keep these.

So far I've been through the game installation files and altered all the configuration files I could find in relation to input settings. None of them have made any difference. Installing the game with or without a patch (though for some reason the game thinks I'm at 1.05 to start with, so I can only install the 1.06 patch), and using new or existing user data has no effect either. I can only guess that I fixed the problem last time, yet didn't bother to write it down (though I'm sure I would have if it was really that complicated). Does anyone have any ideas on how to alter (or simply remove) the console and type key bindings? Perhaps I'm not editing the correct config files?

    Thanks for any ideas.
