    Profanity filter

    I haven't seen mention of the in-game profanity filter here, and I just wanted to let the devs know I appreciate it.

    Specifically, I like that it is a client-side filter which you can disable.

    The devs deserve a fair amount of credit for respecting us as players and not treating us like children.

    I petitioned to have "button" added to the whitelist finally. It was rather annoying to have it show as "****on".

    That said, the forum censor is global for all the Ubisoft forums. It needs to be strict since Ubisoft makes kids and family games as well.

    indeed - the rules on swearing are global - even though some games maybe mature rated - the forums are rated E for everyone.

    They are viewable without logging in, so we can't filter by age of user either [and some would lie to gain access to certain game forums anyway]


    To that end, the swear filter is there for a reason - bypassing it for what ever reason, can see you suspended.


    I think its best to try and put your points across in a civil manner than swearing and ranting anyway

    You can say things offensive enough to get banned, even through the censor. Just ask Purplestuf, or his alt Pentaskill. Oh wait, you can't..............

    Alts are usually against the ToS of free online games anyway. Not really a bannable offense in itself but when you start purposefully circumventing the profanity filter repeatedly you're well on your way out.

    I wasn't commenting on the forum filter: I'm well aware of why it is there. I was more commenting on how I'm sick of playing games where I'm killing people, but not able to use salty words. The very same salty words that in-game characters are yelling.

    Also, I'll take this opportunity to again state that:
