    Crap, my cable just died!

Sat down to play, and no sound. Nada. Zilch.
Tried 2 guitars. Unplugged, plugged into another port. Xbox recognizes the cable, but there's no sound.
My cable hasn't been subjected to any stress in the last month. Worked last night, not tonight.

Has anyone had any luck getting a replacement? What's the warranty period?

The warranty's probably 90 days, depending on where you bought it.

Seems to be a lot of this lately. I must be lucky, cause I move around while playing, leave it across my basement floor, played drunk, stepped on it, took it to my neighbor's house, etc.
Ubisoft needs to address whether they will take warranty claims. Cables are so sensitive though its almost impossible to prove if its defect or abuse. I heard amazon is a place to buy a new one.

I got a free replacement out of Ubisoft. The warranty is 90 days. It will take a while, so you may as well get a second one while you are waiting. I leave one hooked to my Xbox and one in my gig bag for playing at my buddy's house.
Mine went when I was playing in a carpeted basement where you got shocked whenever you touched anyone or anything. I got a wicked shock when I touched the cord, and then I heard the dreaded static.

Will do. In the mean time my local EB Games had one in stock, and they're only a few blocks away, so I'm rockin' again!

You're lucky, the Game Stops (same company) don't carry them in my area.

Preliminary testing indicates it's not a mechanical issue (broken wire, physically abused) but an eletronic issue.
If I plug it in to my computer I can just barely hear the guitar with the volume maxed.

If I don't get a warranty replacement, I'll open it up and do a post mortem.

I finished playing a song and then all of a sudden the cable gives back a loud humming sound. If I play a note nothing happens and notes don't pick up in the tuner. I checked both USB connections on my PS3 and it reacted the same way. Then I tried my 2nd Real Tone cable and had the same problem. I reset the game but when I went into Amp Mode I still had the problem. I know it's not the cable since both have the exact same issue. My PS3 was on a couple of hours so that's my next guess. Anyone else?

Did you try exiting the game back to the dashboard (or whatever PS3 has), or turn off the PS3 and let it cool for a bit? Also, I've had almost exactly the same symptoms, but it turned out to be the connection where my headphones plug into the XBox adapter--you might try fiddling with the audio out cables from your console to see if that's the problem.
