If this is not true, then it means Ubi is just excusing itself with these rubbish reasons. What the hell does this mean; PoP 2008 being shifted toward PoP TFS Wii? Rudiculous indeed... Sad but, in my opinion true.
A long time ago I heard a rumor about the 2008 sequel having elemental powers in it. (that was the person who referred to it as 'Kingdom of Darkness", which I like the sound of actually. Anyway, the time at which I heard the rumor falls exactly in line with what Zapages said. I guess they had those powers and then for some reason felt it wasn't fitting for the game they wished to make. I don't buy that, but they're certainly not trying to use them as excuses since they weren't the ones who told us in the first place. That said, they're still pathetic as reasons to abandon the project. As I've said many times before, the 2008 story as it stands now offers so many possibilities that it would really take a supremely unimaginative person to NOT be able to make something up for it.

Oh, well. Guess the 2008 game really was just a fluke of greatness.

Ah well so 08 is dead as of now, is it?

Well the guy I knew also never mentioned anything about a sequel too, so I guess it was true.

I would still reserve judgement on it until I see the **** trailer but I have to wonder though what ubisoft are playing at, if what zapages said is true. Do they really think that implementing the mechanics and style of AC would really boost the sales.
I mean is it that ****ing easy ubisoft

Do you really think POP fans want to see an amalgam of AC and GOW, really?

So just because open world is the flavour at the moment, it will work for POP as well, and that too with a tinge of AC..

Well I have to agree with Bobby here, if that really happens, I'm done with ubisoft.

just....let them fail....at least they will know next time where they done the wrong move.
i think it would be very easy for them to read the forums and see that the majority doesn't preffer what we saw in that images.
Judgment? really? 2012? wasn't that concept already used in AC?
I do really hope they published that images to see our reactions and to make something we don't dislike as much as this nasty "judgment game"
I don't like to be judged ... like, seriously? what kind of judgement can relate to Egypt?
Reading those forums personally I observed that 70-80% would preffer a POP 2008 sequel. The rest doesn't care, would preffer a SOT trilogy sequel or would want reboot.
If they see this, WHY IN THE NAME OF AHRIMAN AND ALL THE CORRUPTION they think it's positive to do a reboot?
BONUS an OPEN world like AC and many other similarities with ac... REALLY? they are really pathetic and you know why?
because they think that if they had a lot of money from AC they think the same formula will work for POP too...BUT THEY FORGET that initially AC came from POP and not viceversa.
It's very preddictive with their commercial thinking but they forget that the original POP was not made only for money... [i mean it was but...] Jordan Mechner put all his heart and creativity and time in POP SOT... same in the others he worked.... all that games had a huge success... all of them!! Now imagine a POP game without Jordan's ideas, agree, initial concept.
What do they think? That they can change the enviornment, character and all just like the AC?
well , one thing Ubisoft shall remember.
    POP IS NOT AC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

@vali: But they have already failed once with TFS haven't they??

Well they have gone mad if that's the case. POP has never been about how realistic you can get.

Oh, well. Guess the 2008 game really was just a fluke of greatness.

Whatever is the reason behind all these, the certainty is that i'm really beginning to be full of rage against Ubi, even though they have created many of my fav series.

I just want to know what will happen to Elika
The main reason for playing video games right now ( at least for me ) is the story
For example , Batman Arkham City's story just sucked me to continue the whole game

Now I really wish that the teaser IS from a new IP ,
This way We won't get a game that is too different from PoP and We may get a chance to get the sequel after all

About the Multiplayer feature , I don't really think It is important for PoP
I only care about the single player experience and putting all the effort in It ( like Batman Arkham City too )

Its even more infuriating when you take that into account. How she left at the end of the dlc to find the rest of her clan, everyone can see that the story could have unfolded in a thousand ways from there except ubisoft.

I'm mostly dissappointed with how things turned out in the past couple of years.I really hoped for something good.At least we know that Ubi gave us four great Pop games .They screwed up the latest one and they will probably screw this one up too.Let's just hope this circus ends soon and the franchise laids to rest until it is picked up a few years later probably from another company, hopefully one which has a fresh development team who are true fans of the game working on it.Who knows. If things go this way we might even get to see a sequel to Pop 08.....

PS a mix of AC and GOW is what nightmares are made of .Even if such a game existed and was totally unrelated to Pop it would suck......

Prince of Persia should be PRINCE OF PERSIA.
Assassin's Creed should be ASSASSIN'S CREED.
God of War should be GOD OF WAR.
If it is a new IP that combines them it might work because it doesn't have a feeling that won over many fans over the years, and creates a new style, but mixing POP with AC and GOW in any game of any of the series it's going to fail.
Hope if this is true, the AC and GOW elements should be subtle while the POP ones dominating.
But I said it before, and I will say it again, Prince of Persia is so great because each time it reinvented itself and brought something new to the table, and that's how the series should be treated, not like a blender where you mix up elements from games that have already been used 1000 times before.

So we can forget about the sequel. Oh, well... who cares. I will continue to do fanart and love this game. Ubi is free to do whatever he want.
