    register username "bad word"?

So I when to register today, but i wasnt able to use my usual common username. After some editing, I found out that it was because it *contained* the word...ddddish phase "ekrem"?

Could someone explain to me what an EKREM is?!? because I looked online and all I could find is that some people use it as an actual name... oh, sorry btw to anyone named Ekrem.

I know Im making a big deal about this but REALLY, whats wrong with "EKREM"?

I am curious on the mod's answer on that one... I did a fast search and in Turkish, it means "most generous" .... I remember having that kind of problem in other sites: Anglophone with french section but seemed like it didn't knoe it's french coz they wouldn't accept any comments lol

The moderators will be able to tell you very little as we have nothing to do with the profanity filter other than suffer it's vagaries in the same way as other users. Remember that moderators are not staff, we're volunteers.

There have been some issues for the Forum Admin staff who manage the filter getting it to behave in a predictable manner. Once that's sorted, there may be some effort expended customising the default filter list that comes with vBulletin forums to something more suitable for Ubi's purposes.

To complicate matters, I think the forum registration system uses a different filter list to that used for forum posts, as the registration is linked to the UPlay and Ubi.com user database.

I'll see if I can find a community manager or forum manager to comment...however it's pretty much the weekend now so it may take several days.
