The "believe in ghosts" and the well done "alpha" trailers are kinda OK. If there were the only commercials than fine. But i am embarrased to show the other commercials to my g/f and friends to convince them to buyGRFS cuz they make the game look bad. They make the game look like me and my friends are too grown up for the game and that it will be a childish game.
But it isnt. I need to convince ppl the game will be better than the impression given.
Shouldnt this be the other way around?
And dont get me started on the horrible mega64 commercial. That was irritating to listen to. I showed this to my flat mate and he asked me to turn the volume down cuz it was too hard listening to the most irritating none witty pretending-to-play-the-game commentary. It was so blatantly obvioys that the mega64 guys havent played the game themselves but got a list of features to talk about from UBI that it felt so forced. So cheap.
Look how well FC2 is being marketed (so far). Was it really that hard to let the PR guys do the same restrained mature marketing for GRFS?

Well I definitely would, all t&a as they say. Thing is it's just designed to attract teenage kids to the game and the original fanbase (imo) was far more mature than that, which is why it was such a great game, it appealed to older players as it required some thought and planning not just run & gun bs. This advert is worringly demonstrative of the direction the franchise is headed.
If every promo had T&A in it I might agree. As it was, it was just one light hearted bit of promo. Not a big deal.
Boy, I feel like I'm in Church with some of these discussions and all the judgement that goes around.

As much as I hate that they did this, it isn't the devs fault that ubisoft was so tasteless. They shouldn't have to not get their game played because EA screwed them over!
