System crashing when computer heats up

So in a fit of nostalgia this weekend I went on steam, bought Chaos Theory and installed it. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit and it works fine, except for one odd quirk. I can't enjoy the game for more than thirty minutes without putting a cool-pack underneath my laptop because once it starts to heat up my whole system crashes. It actually doesn't get too unreasonably hot by the time this happens. I've played more demanding games like Shogun 2 on this laptop and allowed it to get to higher temperatures without anything like this happening before. It seems to only happen when I play Chaos Theory.

What I want to ask is if anybody else has experienced this and if a simple, internal fix is available.

    Thanks.

I doubt any software patch/fix will fix this hardware issue.
Some games may look graphically better but I have found some games focus on using more cpu grunt then GPU , and some use more GPU grunt then CPU.

Some laptops can be equipped with laptop "coolers" , Its quite a common thing I am seeing with people that want to buy a laptop for gaming , yet
its plugged in at home for hours and Its getting more common for laptops to be pluged into ac wall and never moved around.

Your best to do PC gaming with a PC Desktop Computer, not a laptop/notebook/ultrabook/netbook.

You might want to contact the laptop malefactor about the heating issue, they might be aware of the issue and have a fix or replacement laptop

I agree with you and also say you to check your laptop and if it is in warranty then replace it or try to overhaul.
