Thread: Running Reload Removed? | Forums

  1. #11
Im with critical on this one, i would be fine with it if i could turn off auto-load there were a bunch of times to night where i was fighting and went dry and was caught gimping around waiting for a reload. I have an idea for a change what about if you made to reload take longer? but as it stands now the game feel really sluggish and slow. clawing is nearly unusable it better to run in place and slide more often then not.

Like I said, they need to make it so you can sprint anytime. If you're reloading and hit spring you should take off sprinting but it should cancel the reload. If someone is on your tail, go evasive towards your team and hope they take him out. Otherwise, boop him.

That would be a perfectly acceptable solution IMO. Most of the time people won't be able to follow you and kill you if you run away to reload. Engagement distances are usually far enough away to give you time to retreat and reload.

It feels like an awkward change of pace. It's not bad, but it doesn't feel right anymore.

You couldn't reload a belt fed weapon on the run, but any mag fed rifle isn't that bad. At least m16s and m4s are easy enough.

This being said, I think all weapons but LMGs should be able to reload on the run. LMGs have a large enough drum that it isn't necessary to reload on the run unless you plan an assault poorly, which is on you. The size of assault rifle mags is difference, especially SMGs.

I think that it should be implemented for some weapons which are mobility reliant or be able to sprint/run but at a lower pace with the slowdown dependent on the gun's Handling stat, with higher handling allowing for quicker moving reloads. Pistols can easily do a running reload followed by SMGs and some shotguns, with the ARs/SRs having a little difficulty (C variants can do it easily, base/SD variants have trouble, SV/SP variants can't) and the LMGs being unable to do so. Of course, there would be a threshold where the gun is too unwieldy to reload on the move.

As much as you want to limit run-and-gun, your pointmen and flankers need to keep moving and keep momentum.

Alternatively, make reloading a 40% slower while running?

I'd be OK with this as a mid-term solution, make it 50% slower though.

Although, if we could cancel a reload by hitting sprint that would probably give the game a good balance between what we had and what we have.
