Because now we're going to get a swell of cloaked-SMG-toting lone wolfs, instead of actual snipers.
I've mentioned this many times before, remove SMG from recon class, makes it much more easier. Add a secondary pistol from the start, so they are completely nerfed by rushing and shield BS.

And when you have 7 Snipers on your team and everyone is camping because no one has an SMG to assault with... then what?

    No.

I have SR-25 with 2.5x - 12x scope and for sure when I am prone and zoom all the way in, at 50m or greater the shots miss like 7 out of 10 shots even though my crosshair is dead centered on a target that is not even moving...When zoom all the way out, it gets more accurate but still takes too many shots to kill the target. Considering I can hit 28 out of 30 shots on target with a real M16, I'm pretty sure I should be able to hit a non-moving target with a sniper rifle 30 out of 30 shots since it's easier to shoot a sniper rifle on target than it is a m16 with just iron sights. Also, having only 40 bullets sucks when your rifle is so inaccurate and you have to spend 1 clip trying to take out 1 target.

FYI, a funny situaiton happened yesterday....I was on defense and so I sniped the cloaked enemy sniper (1st shot got lucky I guess)...but his buddy (an assault guy) was sitting on objective B with a 3rd guy heading towards B as well (normally I would have sniped all 3 of them and moved on)....well I could clearly see him and so I zoomed in and it took so long to hit him (the non-moving assault guy that is) that the enemy sniper respawned, came back and killed me before I could hit the assault guy a 2nd time...1st hit did 70ish damage and the next few shots just kept missing. So I respawned, went back and pulled my pistol and hit the guy 4 or 5 times without missing...and that was from same distance as with the sniper rifle....ironic that I could hit him with the pistol every hit but miss him 7 or so times with a scoped sniper rifle.

Also, I just bought a LMG (think it was L86 or something like that)...a nice weapon indeed....point though is I can snipe on semi better with that weapon than I could with my SR-25....on a side note, the SRS SD seemed to not be effected too much...I can still snipe well with it like before...it seems way more accurate than the SR-25....Only reason I like the SR-25 though is because I hate having the scope drop after every shot with the SRS...otherwise I'd use the SRS if it didn't drop the scope every time you fire.

Also while on the topic of sniper rifles, just curious if we will every see Barret M82's in the game? I'm guessing no, but just thought I'd ask...

I doubt you will see the Barret M82 because before they removed the 3 other weapons from the Weapon Proficiency page there is already the nemesis 50 bolt action. And being a sniper the Barret M82 will be a lil OP no need for a semi auto 50cal.

Honestly don't think i'll be needing the nemesis 50 either my cheytek M-200SV does a good job at lvl 7 14% crit rate. The only issue is now that they borked the accuracy you can't hit the broad side of a barn now. I hope this gets fixed in Phase 3.

Yup, nothing sucks harder than being zoomed in 12x and knowing for a fact the reticle is on the persons head, yet you miss.

Just to let you know, we're aware of the sniper situation and seeing what can be done about it. Snipers should have the power and precision edge. Please bear with us while we conduct some...experiments. Ultimately, it's a juggling act between keeping weapons fun within the maps (taking engagement range into consideration, sniper locations, pixel hunting, etc), and not frustrating those on the receiving end of a 7.62x51.
