Please do not blame Windows 8, you broke something and don't know what it is :P
It's unlikely that they broke something. The more likely case is that they added or changed something that is now no longer compatible with Windows 8.

In my C:\Users\[name]\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\ there are only 2 empty folders.

I don't have any problems with a low priority - game was working fine.

Running the game directly from the executable file WILL NOT work. The game needs some arguments to launch properly, those arguments are passed to the game executable by the launcher. Have you been manually adding these arguments to the executable? If not it won't work.

    I'm wasting my time here...
The first driver you listed is a Preview driver. Might as well be a beta driver.

The second driver you tried is a beta driver for Windows 7. Trying to combine a BETA driver for Windows 7 with Windows 8 is just asking for even more trouble.

Yes, Windows 8 is similar to Windows 7 but there ARE some significant changes when it comes to drivers for devices (there always are). If there weren't, Nvidia and AMD wouldn't be making Windows 8 specific drivers and would instead just create a generic Windows 7/8 driver package.

You're combining preview, beta, and other untested software and drivers into one enormous pile of instability and expecting it to work.
