Same here. There are a thousand reasons to do campaign first if you ever plan on doing it, multiplayer will always be there when you're done.

Sadly I'm leaving on vacation 2 days after launch so if I decide to pick up the game at launch I'll probably not even be able to complete the campaign unless I stay up all night and don't do it coop. Since my coop buddy is goin on vacation a day or so after me I literally don't know what I'll do..

If you want to be respected, fight fair. If you want to win, do what is necessary.

Same pattern I do. Learn the game mechanics and use all the weapons and then go to MP or do the co-op etc..

Mush asked about it and the reply that was returned was:

Multiplayer character progression is independent of any other modes.

You can only gain rank through the public matchmaking system, not through private matches.

All of the game types (conflict, siege, etc) in public matchmaking allow for progression.

Also, I always play the SP before the MP in games as well. There's rarely an exception.

you, of course, can do what you want to. it's your game so our opinion doesn't amount to a hill of beans. however, since it has been brought up before, i'll offer a different perspective. Map knowledge is a big deal in mp. while you are playing sp, the people who jump on mp first are going to acquire a significant amount of map knowledge that you will be lacking when you begin the mp. They will probably be able to rank up faster as well. Most of the people I know who play shooters play the mp first and go to the campaign when they have exhausted their unlocks, have become bored with mp, the internet connection is down, or their friends are not online. Campaign becomes a supplementary part of the game. Only you can judge whether the experience that you gain using the weapons will offset the experience the mp player will gain from an early jump on the mp. Most people can pick up the nuances of the weapons in mp quickly without playing the campaign and unfortunately the campaign weapons and mp weapons don't always play the same even if they are supposedly identical. BF3 is a great example of this. Also, mp gunplay is subject to patches that the campaign weapons do not experience.

I'm an old school gamer so SP is first priority for me and being able to play with three friends is just icing on the cake. I also play a lot of private/unranked lobbies to cut down on the usual abuse you get with randoms, it also allows you to get to know the maps at your own pace with friends who are doing the same thing. If and when I join ranked lobbies the last thing I worry about is ranking up, its a natural progression so see no point in chasing it. Siege + great maps + unranked lobby - randoms + friends = FUN FUN FUN WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

    And surely everyone's opinions count?
