Save your treats for training. You can skip the treats for the shows, breeding and petting zoo. Your wins at the shows are dependent on the number of riding pals you have cheering you on.
Send you retired 8 year old over the rainbow and re-breed your original horse to increase the age of the next generation.
And pester for friends being able to hold more than 1 job.

I have to say, I agree with everything the other players have said. I only got started on this a day or two ago and I'm already trapped in a rut of not having enough money to finish quests or buying things and not getting a decent pay back from completing the quest/show/action. First and foremost, I believe the money issue needs to be fixed as soon as possible.
I also really hate having to bother my friends to join a game they probably aren't interested in playing just so I can get further in it. The other problem with bugging my friends is that they'll actually end up mad at me in real life, too.
The treats are also really ridiculous. Four hours for a single cookie? When most people have two horses and the cycle can be finished within a minute, this causes a delay in game play that's just frustrating. Offering treats for sale in the shop would be much better.
As to the quests: give us less when we first join! We're just getting the hang of the game, let us figure out how to do things before you start having us spend a whole bunch of money on unnecessary trails or decorations for quests. Also, if we're spending, say 1800 HB to complete a quest, there should be a reward around the same as what we put into it. Please, people get frustrated when they spend a whole lot of money just to get back 1/10th of what they spent. It's not worth it to do these tasks if we aren't getting our money's worth.
The compost is a great idea so we can actually make money, but it's not fair to ask us to waste what little energy we have to clear it for the money every 15 minutes. I'm sorry, but you can't expect people to sit by their computer just to click on the compost every quarter hour. Please make this auto-collected so we still get the benefits but don't have to be staring at the computer all day!
I've also read about the issues with the home bred horses. I'm expecting my first foal in a few minutes, but if it's true that they retire at 8, there really isn't much point in breeding them since they won't be able to show and would just cost me extra energy to keep around to send to a petting zoo. If retired horses required less attention before they can go to the zoo/breed each cycle, that would be a lot better.
Lastly, (and please don't be offended by this) I know that you continuously say that you're passing our suggestions along, but if this many people are bringing up the same issues, I really believe it should be dealt with right away. It just doesn't seem like anything's being done about these problems. (Again, I really don't mean to offend anyone, it's just my opinion.)

Here is another suggestion for you. As my lot gets more crowded as i have to wait for more deeds and money to expand, your giant labels on every building, pops up when i am trying to pick apples next to them, or move a horse from close to them not allowing me to click for the darn message boxes. PLEASE shrink them down in size, they are annoying.
