what should happen to snipers
I think sniper rifles should get nerfed. Yeah, I know that's been said, but I mean nerf the living hell out of anyone who dares to carry one. All I've seen snipers (not SMG recons, but SNIPERS) do is 1. cause anger on their team. "Get on the cap you dopes!" 2. cause anger on the other team. Nobody has fun when, even if you're winning, you have to keep getting shot by snipers. I think crap like that messes up what is a very friendly community. Since there's a relatively small player base, people get to know different players, and even if you're not trying to, you meet people multiple times throughout the day. So if you met those people with "Hi pal!" rather than "crap we got another sniper" we would all be happier people.
SUGGESTIONS (how these guys should be punished/nerfed):
1. Make people carrying sniper rifles (or at least big ones capable of one-shotting people) unable to use the cover system. If you're carrying some huge thing that packs that kind of power, you can't just sprint, dive into cover, and then snap out and blast people in a split second.
2. If a sniper takes a bullet while scoped, make it screw up their aim (sight sway). If it already does that, make it do so more. This is because it's way to hard to counter snipers at long range. Even if you hit him with a couple shots, he just sits behind cover and waits for you to lose your interest, and then shoots you.
3. When a sniper aims down sight, it should take longer for their crit chance to increase. This would prevent that annoying thing where snipers watch the battle from behind cover and only show their face long enough to nail somebody. If it already does that, it's not enough and pick a different choice
4.Sniper limit for each team. A sniper can be a tactical asset, that's why SWAT teams have em. Here's a way to limit them: people can have a slot to put a sniper rifle in, and also their primary weapon. The game randomly picks some small number of snipers per team (like, one) who get to use the sniper rifle they equipped. If they are not chosen, they have a SMG in their primary slot so they can still help.
If I've said something should be nerfed about a sniper looking down scope, or show a lack of understanding of what it's like to be a sniper, I'm sorry, it's just that I play recon with a SMG and I cap points and shoot people and try to melee aegis users, I don't own a sniper rifle!

rarely does a sniper 1 shot anything, unless it's another recon.
1.) Dumb, that would defeat the purpose of a sniper.
2.) It does enough "screw up" when getting shot.
3.) This isn't TF2
If anything the snipers should be buffed, if you're getting hit with a 50caliber in your chest, there's no way you're going to be able to move, let alone run away and hide til your health regens.
A lot of established players laugh when i hit them for over 100 damage, and they walk away as if they weren't hit at all. Some (good players, who know they should have died) will actually stay peaking in order for me to get the deserved kill. I'll hit people in the head for about 140-150 damage and still not get the kill. In my opinion, a headshot with a sniper is a headshot, should be a direct kill.
There's plenty of other guns that deserve a nerf over any sniper.

I agree with OP. Snipers need to be nerfed severely.
I agree with post #2, heres what I say if you don't want to die from a snper. just don't show your self, be sneeky and find a different rought like a true Ghost. You got to be sneeky, got to be sneeky Charlie, sneeky, sneeky,got to be sneeky.

4.)lol...it's a valid point. I'd like to see a SWAT team in which everybody carried a sniper rifle.
Most problem I see is, when you are hiding or in cover. Snipers still got you with a 1Hit-Kill, cause they see your foot or some other minimal non-vital spot of you.
The other are Snipers rushing around the corner, drop their self in front of you and kill you easily while you can't hurt them enough with your burst of bullets from you LMG.
Most people want it realistic, not a mario vs sniper game
I agree with the re****al post more. Most of us want the game to be realistic, which means snipers are ****ed deadly. I don't play one, it's boring to me (I shoot real 600 and 850 in 7.62x51 matches) I also agree with: if you get a center mass shot with a .338 Lapua Mag or .50BMG you are going to Jesus no matter what body armor or plates you have, not just losing 150.
limiting to 1 sniper per squad of 6 or 2 for a squad of 8 would be fair though.

I agree with you that a sniper should be able to instantly kill people, and that would also go well with having like one lethal guy per squad

Either way you create more problems because now your talking about nerfing a whole class while doing nothing to the other classes (force limits on sniper rifles for recon, then force weapon limits on assault and specialist as well)....forcing everyone to either play a bunch of assault or specialists or you end up having teams full of cloaked recon SMG'ers...which by the way I find more difficult to fight than snipers...at least I can see and hit snipers....it's hit or miss with cloaked recon...you might see them, then you might not...but whether you do or not, they will still get behind enemy lines and cause problems which is not any more or less annoying than a sniper pinning me down...
another issue that is being overlooked the most is good old fashioned teamwork....when snipers have your team pinned down your squad is supposed to work together to counter them...
Another issues is that you can limit sniper rifles all you want, but a MK16 can still be used as a sniper....just does less damage but can still do easy head shots....so limiting sniper rifles won't solve much at all....heck I can snipe with just about any weapon with the right scope and recoil...
so I believe it's the players not the class....there is a huge lack of teamwork and ability to use team tactics to overcome some of the games tougher situations....I've seen and been a part of teams that worked together so well, it felt like they were invincible....It didn't matter what classes or what weapons were involved either....great teamwork trumps just about anything other than exploits or hacks...
