i have a legit SC conviction game which i bought from the mall

i recently received a gift thru steam which is the SCC dlc

but i am having difficulty installing dlc since steam wont recognize my SC conviction game.


please help me

Hi, have you contacted Steam about this? it is probably best you either contact them or technical support, the link is in my signature. So they can troubleshoot with you.

I am 99% sure that you need a copy of the game on Steam to be able to use the DLC purchased or gifted on Steam.

Hi, I have the same problem, I bought the DLC for friend via Steam, but he has normal box version as me.
When I was purchasing DLC for box version of the game via Ubi e-shop, everything came via e-mail. Link to download the DLC data and activation code.
My question is if there is some way to get only the activation code from "Steam gift" which cannot be unpacked without full version of Steam game? Because I can
send him my installation of DLC which IS for box version. He just need only activation code to play it.
Why the Steam is doing this and blocks unpacking the content of gift ??? I think, that activation codes are compatible on every PC version (AAW), only Xbox versions have AAX.
