    Cannot start playing

    Hello everybody,

I have a weird problem with HAWX 2. When I start the very first mission, I am told to start the engine (which I do with R key), and then I am instructed to drive to the runway, using the movement keys, and get ready for takeoff. The issue is that the plane would not move when I press the acceleration key. If I hold it for a while, I can hear something like a rather quiet sound of a jet plane, but nothing else happens.

    What am I doing wrong?

Exactly the same issue. Thought it might be a controller issue, but the behavior is the same regardless of input device. I have yet to find a solution as well.

Hi guys, the only information I can find on this subject is this thread http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=1756841 which says follow the on screen commands. Having played HAWX 2 on Xbox 360 I don't recall having this issue either.

It could be that you have the acceleration on a button, if you are using a controller try putting acceleration on a trigger, this way you can feather the amount of acceleration.

Thanks for the quick response, but the trigger is properly mapped. As the OP and other forum author note, you can hear the engines rev to full. There are no further prompts and you just sit there indefinitely. This is on PC via Steam with any control device enabled. (360 pad, keyboard, saitek x50, etc.

Have you contacted technical support? It does sound as if you have found a bug.

I have somehow resolved the issue by inverting the engine control in game settings. There are two types of control modes - Normal and Inverted (I can't say for sure, though, because I do not have the English locale). I think this was the action after which the aircraft agreed to move. Later I have set it to "Normal" again, and it still works fine.

I have concluded that the issue might be related to my keyboard. It's rather old, connected via PS/2, and sometimes it behaves strangely under my Windows 7. During the game I experienced some discomfort as well, especially when controlling drones: for example, image scale would constantly change to maximum, and / or the drone would move by itself when it is supposed to hang still.
