Horse Retired Too Soon
The first horse I levelled up retired once it had 24 age points. Now I'm on my 2nd one, have barely had a chance to train and it's retired already at only 8 age points. Do they retire at random ages? Or is something wrong?

I've had this happen with my first foal. It retired at 8 age points. Is it suppose to do that? It seems wierd.

It is supposed to do that. There is info around the forums on this. Basically what happens is, you have to build up your breeding badges to make your stock last longer before retiring.

I have the similar problem, in 1 lv age 8 is retired. Is a horse who born in my ranch and i don't use breeding badges, cause i think is bether ramdon horse borned. If i buy the horse in the store, it get more level age. Someone (moderator or not) can or know how to solve the problem?

Every breed level, your foals will age-out later.
I am level 4 breed mastery with the Saddlebreds, and my horses retire at age 20.

Burritoish & Megannator are right--many other threads on this forum explain this. You have to improve your breed mastery to get your horses to retire later. Yours are currently retiring at age 8...you need to use breeding badges while breeding to level up breed mastery. Please go to the FAQs and the WALK THROUGHS if you're not sure what to do:

I understand how the breeding process works. However, considering my first horse made it to age level 24 it doesn't seem logical that subsequent horses would retire sooner than that.

Hi, sorry I feel the need to post this as I am quite annoyed as everything in this game makes it impossible for you to progress. Firstly everything is so expensive to buy when you only get 40 from petting zoo, and 15 from the training and it also uses quite a bit of energy. So when I finally saved up enough to buy the breeding pen to get a new horse to try and level it up higher it will it may as well be considered non-functional at the age of 8. There are someserious game issues that do need to be considered as it does have the potential to be a great game. I understan that by gaining more badges you get horses that live longer but you can't really do that in the space it takes your foal to rach 8. Again I will mention the money point again as it does need to be stressed that it take ages as not everybody is on every 30 mins to top up and collect from their compost and collect apples. I think the quests need to be staged as well, ie intended to lead you on a path in the game - one of the first quests I got was to build breeding pen and breed with horse with one badge. Along with build compost and build 4 water trouphs and hay stacks. Thats quite a lot of money to have to try and gain to be able to complete all of these, so should may be a bit more organised.

Well, my horse actually -did- retired too soon, at 8 rather than 10 age points...
I have had this problem. My first bred horse retired at age 8, with 8 age points. Well, no problem. The next horse I bred had 10 age points, but for some reason decided to retire at age 8 again. That doesn't seem quite right.

Now every horse I try to level is retired at age 8. So frustrated.
