    Parachutes?

As well as gliders, would you like to have parachutes in Far Cry 3? With the varying heights of the archipelago's landscape, I think that being able to jump off from great heights would be ideal to get away from enemies in certain situations.

I'm open to either a yes or not because the glider itself can be also used as a landing vehicle

I voted no simply because it could allow players to maybe get to areas of a user made map I don't want them to be in, or are you talking about single player?
The difference is the glider in previous games we could position it where we wanted so could build higher areas to control where the glider could go - Parachutes would mean height like something in Just Cause which was amazing, I also liked the gyro copter in that game.

I guess one way of using a parachute could be like a Team Support weapon where one player gets the option to drop into enemy territory and if you are going to parachute over the playable zone (out of bounds) it could say not available until you position the cursor in the playable area.

This would restrict the number of players getting access if they had to earn it - Also if they landed in high areas they could camp until they run out of ammo but could they get back down without dying - it might take them out of the game for a while and could allow them to see areas of a user made map that are not supposed to be seen which might look ugly from a different view point.

Who knows though I read on twitter a comment that there are 10 vehicles in the single player game covering land sea air (could be that the glider is the only airborne vehicle or they might surprise us yet)

for single player I think it's got great potential.... Like jumping off a cliff while a facilty expldes and you escape by parachute.

Dropping out of an ampibious plane by parachute.... I think it would be fun so I'm a defo yes

the more different modes of transport the better for varying the experience

    Apologies, for single player only!

My main idea was to be used for jumping off of cliffs either to escape enemies, to get down, or simply for fun when roaming.

Would have been fun if parashooters were intergrated in one or more of the mp gamemodes. That is assuming that the person who has made the map in the map editor is able to set respawn locations for the plane to drop off the parashooters. That could give the map creator at least some control over where the parashooters end up.

This would restrict the number of players getting access if they had to earn it
One way to solve this is to let the team as whole earn it after completing part of the goal (example: taking over a number of control points).

I actually think a great mission for parachute use would be

A sheer cliff face to navigate and mountain caves you had to climb through to a facilty ... Once you get to the facilty at the top you need to plant explosives and use stealth to do this sabotage to destroy it as your main objective without getting spotted.... It's here you find the parachute... When setting the last explosive an enemy spots you and sets off the alarm... From this point on you are engaged in feroicious gun battle trying to make it out of the facility... Fighting to get out back through the corridors.... You reach the exit door and notice a large group of enemies making there way towards you.... sprinting to the edge of the cliff whilst detonating the explosives and base jumping into the abyss whilst flames shoot off the side as you drop to altitude below.... Before finally tugging on your parachute to drop to saftey

If somthing like that was in game I could not see it being a bad thing... Bit james Bond but certainly would be exhilerating!!
