First I am not a great player just average. 7 to 10 kills at match with about a 1 to 1 death to kill ratio. However I jumped on tonight and noticed a few things.
I was shot through cover twice. Not the shot through cover where you poke you head out for just a second and the game dealy makes it seem like you were shot through cover. I mean down flat on the ground haven't even looked out yet one shot one kill.
I always use magnum bullets in my sniper rifle but I don't think I had a hit over 78 damage in the 8 games I played. Even when I was not seen and had a clear head shot.
I also had trouble spotting cloak. Most of time you can hear it and then see a trail. Tonight I was wasted time and time again by what seemed like a few players with continous cloak. Only becoming visible when firing. On top of that I was killed so quickly I couldn't get a shot off. Normally when they uncloak and start firing I can get a couple of shots in to make them easier to kill for the next guy. Tonight I lay their choking on my own blood and all I saw was 100/100 running away.
I use the cloak myself with a lvl 9 recon. Tonight I was shot 3 times by a sniper and fairly long range while cloaked. Each time it was 1 shot 1 kill. I know I can spot cloak but I have never been able to pop the cloaked enemy in the head based on the small ripples you can see. Nor have I ever been killed so easily when I am cloaked.
So like I tell my employees don't complain about something if don't have an idea on how to fix it.
I have heard about issues with shot through cover a bunch of times. If it is really happening I am sure the development team will get it fixed.
Perhaps I am not a good shot or each enemy was wearing addtional armor. My suggestion here is to make snipers more difficult to see or provide better cover for snipers. Every game I have played struggles with this but we have all seen the movies where a sniper sneaks right up on the bad guys and they never know it. Thats not just hollywood. My brother trained in special forces until tearing his knee and ankel up in a rock climbing accident. That little bastard pops me with paintballs from 20 yards right in front of me and I never seem him. It's actually kind of creepy.
Since all the special weapons like cloak, oracle and aegis can basically be used non-stop by each member with a little coordianation, make these weapons a team effort. Only so much juice to go around. If a recon cloaks for 20 seconds a specialist can't use aegis until the juice recharges. Or cap the number of uses. This make the choice of when to use a special weapon more stratigic.
The game is becoming extremly dull now that some players have found ways to lets say, take advantage of the games features. The guys/girls going 35 and 4 every game have the rest of us to scared to leave the spawn. When we do we are gunned down by smg fire from the invisible man. Match making has to do a better job of watching trends and giving average players and noods a chance to get better at the game. Level can only hold so much weight since I can be a level 15 assault by just playing a lot or a level 30 sniper playing assault for the first time.
