Fresh build, Best Catalyst settings for IL2 1946?

Hey folks. The MB for my old AMD FX 60 finally died so I did a pretty major rebuild. My new rig is as follows:

Cooler Master 800W Silent Pro Power Supply
    XFX 7770 AMD Grphics Card
    16 Gigs of GSkill Ram
AMD FX 4100 Quad Core Chip (Zambezi)
    ASUS Sabretooth 990FX Mobo
    Win 7 Pro 64 Bit

By using my old case, HD's monitor, keyboard etc... I was able to do all of the above for about $800.00

I was able to migrate IL2 - 1946 over from an old HD and it runs GREAT! Decent FRAPS scores but I'd like to know what folks would recommend for optiaml Catalyst settings with this hookup. Thanks in advance...

Great new build you have put together ... so far how do you like the output of the AMD FX 4100 and 990 FX?

I did have a AMD 57FX before with EVGA 7800 GTX SLI and had no real complaints with it's running over the years.

But now running with a AMD 1100T with a ASUS Crosshair V 990FX MB, 8G Mushkin Ridgeback Redline RAM, EVGA 580GTX and a Silverstone Strider Plus 1000W power supply. And have been more than pleased with it's output. With IL-2 I get a few more frames than before... but with a few of the newer games the rig really shines and has plenty of power to spare with a little tweaking.

Can run CloD with most of the graphic settings at high with pretty decent frame rates. And evn with the old IL-2 running with a UberDemon mission set with max ground effects and roughly 200 aircrafts in the air it runs with no problems at all. And IL-2 almost looks like a new game with the eye candy really shining with the NVIDIA control panel settings at.

    1920x1080 resolution.

    Anisotropic Filter 8x
    Antialiasing gamma correction On
Antialiasing Mode Enhance the Application Setting
    Antialiasing Setting 8x
    Antialiasing transparency Off
CUDA GPU`s Use global setting All
    Max pre rendered frames 3
    Multi display/mixed Single Display
    Power Managment mode Adaptive
    Texture filtering anistropic sampling Off
    Texture filter Negative LOD ****P
Texture filter quality Use global settings Quality
Texture filter Trilinear optimization Use global settings ON
Threaded Optimization Use global settings ON
    Triple buffering On
Vertical Sync Use global settings 3D application

Left out a sound card this time around and have been using the integrated audio of the motherboard... which has been more than enough to power and sound good with a set of 2.1 Klipsch's.

Well glad to hear you have the new rig up and running... one question though... any new tunes being put out the future with your group??

Hey Woof ole bean. I was thinking about your son recently... long story, I'll PM you some time. Yeah I'm loving the new righ ring and I'm finally able to play some games I bought used YEARS ago but never had the rig to run. Right now I'm playing "FarCry 2" and having a bllast as well as "Crysis". Soom I'll start doing some RTS stuff I hink. It's been great. The 4100 is a stop-gap chiip. When the new "Piledrivers" come out in about a month I'll grab one of those or migrate to a 8150 on the cheap. I've no complaints. How's you'se?

Jocamo's started work on the third album. I just bought a new tune to the band last month. I personally may be touring with this old blues cat I've met. I'll let you know.

Thanks for the love and information...

The Piledriver chips coming out by AMD look very interesting and they have added some real improvements over the Bulldozer chips they came out with recently. I'm pretty happy so far with the performance the 1100T has offered and have just picked up a second EVGA 580 GTX graphics card for a decent price and will be going over to SLI again. Also been checking out Modern Warfare 3 to give it a try as I've seen it come down in price lately.

My son has been very busy lately with a new position at a different school now and is still helping out at the school where he taught before. He also still tudors drum lessons and a few other instruments and plays in a couple bands. Might say he likes being busy. LoL

It is excellent to hear that you and band are working on a new album. Wicked! Getting out and touring with a blues player sounds like an excellent time and a good chance to pickup on some new music skills.

Real good to hear from you... take care.
