EXTREMELY strange problem, can't connect to my friends game! (There's more to it)

    Hi!

First of all I wanna say that heroes 6 is really a good game!

Now to my problem... Me and my friend want to play together, and I made a server. He couldn't connect, so I thought "Ok, maybe I just can't make games!", but then some randoms join and leave and, well I thought "Well, maybe my friend just can't join!". Then he tried to make a server and it was the same, couldn't connect to server...

Now to the strange thing, I then joined a random server and my friend couldn't join, but when I left he could join but I couldn't... What's up with that? It's as if the game ain't big enough for both of us or something!

Please oh PLEASE tell me that someone has a solution to this! We both have version 1.3.0, we have tried this with and without firewalls, we have tried to exit skype (dunno why that would make a difference)... But it's so strange that I can join a server at first and he can't, and when I leave that server he can join it but I can't get back into it until he leaves...

    Thanks in advance!

I have now contacted them, and I hope they will reply soon... Sorry for the duplicated thread also, I made the post in the wrong forum at first.

But I have come to the conclusion that the ports on my router / firewall is not the problem since we can join the same game just not at the same time as if the server wasn't big enouch for both of us.

It may be that your friends need to open the correct ports as well.

    Thumbs up

Mush, when does ubi/limbic plan to actually fix the multiplayer ? By changing required ports to normal ones like every other game with decent design does.

Hacking off your firewall and re-binding(forwarding) router ports should never be required for a light-weight product (like games) from a customer who pays for it (hence pays for game developers for decent and customer friendly design).

1 company vs all customers - where should the change occur, in a client or inevery customer's side? To me (and any other sane customer, game developer or IT architect) it is very clear. Only questions WHEN remains.
As an example: i have managed to "kill" firewall, reconfigure router and whatever the hell is needed to make it work. ALL IN VAIN !!!
AS I CAN NEVER PLAY WITH almost ANYONE in multiplayer because majority (random number 99%) are not able to do it (lack of know-how, router access rights, FW/computer admin rights etc)
So far (past weeks) i have managed to connect ONLY with 1 person outside special VPN setup. Can this be real ???
    fix multiplayer
    fix multiplayer
    fix multiplayer
    + fix Vampires - Out Of Time(fixed in 1.8?)
+ fix custom heroes creation bug(fixed in 1.7?)

Let's say that he haven't fixed the ports... How does that make a difference? Since we can join/hosts games the ports shouldn't the problem right? The problem is that we can't join a server WHILE THE OTHER ONE OF US is in the same server... It's as if the game wants me to play with everyone except my friend... I'm no expert though, so you may be right... It can be about the ports, but it just doen't seem logical to me.
