I think We should have NGD Threads; So here We Go!

    HI All,

I have noticed that other guitar forums have NGD (New Gear/Guitar Day) posts so people can share their new toys and I though it would be a good habit to start here. So, any time you get some new gear you want to show off make a thread and let the lusting commence.

Here is my New Guitar and Amp day. Got them Friday but have been too busy playing to post!

New Gibson Derek Trucks SG Sig (With my Epi SG 61 in the background!):

    Front in Case:

    Back:

And with New amp Marshal JPM1-C

Loving both the SG and the amp. I play RS with the amp and game plugged in so I can hear myself better and it works really well.

Thanks Funk... I knew you would like it. can't quite work out if it is a one or 2 piece body. Think it is 2. lovely guitar though, so much easier to play than my les paul traditional.

Tattoobc... I have a distortion pedal that has 2 outputs; one to the amp and one to a mixer so I just plug the RS cable into the mixer output and the amp into the amp output. Works like a charm. You can also get cable splitter adapters that would do the same thing.

Excuse my ignorance, but what's the big shiny chrome thingamabob below the bridge? Thought it was a tremolo at first, but it doesn't seem to be.

According to the Gibson website, this is on purpose (vibrato/trapeze tailpiece with the vibrato mechanism removed and a stop tailpiece in its place)

Do new strings count? I finally switched mine today. I also bought a rig for my iPad to run my guitar through it. Pretty excited about trying it out. There's a Rocksmith like music program on there now.

Guitar looks pretty nice though, I'd say it's 2-3 piece mahogany body?
